@@JonBardcore We went to do a Fort of Fortune with my friend. A brig came along but we sunk it, and then we spotted a reaper coming our way. A skelly sloop spawned on them and they sunk, so we finished the fort. Turns out they probably shot themselves out of their cannons, swam to the island, and kegged our ship. We sunk and came back. we almost lost again, but I managed to steal the Chest of Fortune in the middle of the battle, and we rushed to sell it. I guess when they lost the chest, they lost all hope and they scuttled, so we got everything in the end. A few things stayed in the vault, but the best stuff was successfully sold!

I yesterday stole 2 chests of legends from a FOD stack. I think in your situation I would suggest tucking by the cannons or at the tent so that you can see what's going on. This allows choosing the best timing for your steal rather than just relying on luck. If you walked out of the bottom deck at the wrong moment you could've gotten blundered, so I suggest to not tuck there. Also the rowboat could've been taken right behind the tower to make it less noticeable.

Stealthy steals are one of my favorite things to do in the game, and not many players are actually even trying to do it and either completely avoid pvp or attack you directly without any stealthy plan. I am always cautious about possible tuckers, but I almost never getting any which sometimes I'm even sad about. Glad that you got into it and inspire people to try it too!

about the megs: in season nine, they increased the spawn rate of all emergent enemies: skelly ships, krakens and megs. they did that due to the lack of content between islands and the seas feeling empty

I ended up soloing two FoFs late last night when I originally went on a Fishing Adventure for Milestones, but also getting the last Rare fish I needed to complete Comms for Wildsplash and Islehoppers. I was nervous and paranoid, since I was a solo and I did see an Emissary ship on the horizon both times. But luckily, I was left alone and was able to solo both, netting me 2 more Chests of Fortune (aka: Zelda Chests) and Grade IV for Athena Kegs sold

Friend of mine has commented how servers that have Skelly Fleets tend to be fairly quiet, since it keeps getting reset by people sailing past or near it until it's actually done

Their reasoning for this is because server hoppers come in, see that it's just a Skelly Fleet World event, and leave. Thus, it leaves many of the PvE players doing their own thing. Doesn't mean PvP doesn't still happen. That same session, I saw a Reaper I and a Guardian Champion fighting on the map. Guardian won that battle

I don't know how experienced this person was is the question I have. They managed to kill the Ashen Lord in less than two minutes which I thought was nuts. But then they didn't check for tucks. Weird.

If I had to guess, he was experienced enough to take down the Ashen Lord pretty quickly but was ignorant of his own surroundings throughout the entire process. He probably doesn't solo sloop as much because the experienced solo slooper is one riddled in paranoia and anexity, which means that player is always checking for tucks. Since he was only focused on the win condition and not taking the steps to secure said win, you merely demonstrated having such tunnel vision was his downfall. Either he will learn from this and become a better solo player next time, or he'll do the same thing and get dumpstered on by another pirate. Failure is an excellent teacher, especially in a silly pirate game.
