When elephants like these are spotted with massive leg injuries, medical teams avoid using anesthetics and tranquilizer guns to sedate them. These elephants need every bit of their strength to stay up and maintain their balance, and once it goes down, it will not be possible to stand up again unless its complete recovery of strength due to their own weight. Most of the time it might lead to a tragic end. This is why they refrained from using anesthetics and decided to use other medical treatments from a distance. They will carry out more medical treatments as it recovers strength due to preliminary rounds.

I too would like to have seen the treatment, instead of the long waiting for the sedation to work. Love the Teams doing the work to Save the Elephants.
@wval43794 жыл бұрын
It would make for more interesting viewing if you cut out most of the time showing a drowsy elephant stumbling around. What would be good to see is you finding the elephant, tranquilizing it, just a few moments of it being drowsy, it laying down (if it does), your treatment of the elephant and last, show the elephant waking and going on its way (or passing away). I really don't think you should leave the "story" hanging with no resolution. That is frustrating to watch.
@branchen62994 жыл бұрын
Go back and read the initial comment by "The Wild Tube", and it might clarify things for you. The elephant isn't stumbling around because it's drowsy...it's because of his injury. Their only concern is to help improve the lives of these beautiful creatures, and to share those efforts with the world. If you don't find that interesting, there are many other videos out there to watch.
@wval43794 жыл бұрын
@@branchen6299 You sound as if you are PERSONALLY offended by my comment. You know, I'm allowed to state an opinion on any video, just as you are. First of all, the elephant was limping but wasn't stumbling around and wobbly before they shot it with a tranquilizer. Secondly, if I didn't love elephants and wasn't so glad they are helping these wonderful creatures, then I actually know, without you telling me, how to watch other videos. Third, if you bothered to do some research, you'd see that on many of their other videos, my comments are to praise their work and how they treat the elephants. Fourth, I was offering them information that, if possible to implement, would improve the quality of their material, which could increase their viewership, which could increase the money they make from KZbin. Again, if you bothered to research, many other people stated frustration with some of the content, or lack thereof, of their videos. So, you might want to adjust your attitude toward people about which you know nothing. I don't think you are the internet police.
@branchen62994 жыл бұрын
@@wval4379 You evidently DIDN'T read the intro comment by them, as they stated that they did NOT sedate the elephant...and, yes, he WAS stumbling around before they shot him the first time. Secondly, yes, you have a right to your own opinion, but make sure you do YOUR research on it before doing so. Third, it's only a matter of self-importance to think that I would (a) recognize your name from other videos, , (b) waste my time to search them out, or (c) give a flying f*** what the other ones are about, since I was commenting on THIS one. Fourth, yes, there are many comments regarding this video that are not too positive, but it becomes apparent with their comments, that THEY didn't read the intro, either. And, fifth...stop with numbering your points when making them...I am neither an imbicile or 2 years old. I CAN follow a cohesive train of thought...when offered. My only complaint with these videos is that there is no written/video conclusion. And all I'm trying to say is...cut 'em some slack...they're learning.
@wval43794 жыл бұрын
@@branchen6299 You tell me not to number my points in the comment where you number your points?! That's rich. You choose to insult me (assuming that I'm self-important) and you critique my writing style? Wow, a twofer! (BTW, I happen to be a widely published author of children's books (under a pseudonym) which several school systems in multiple states have adopted into their reading programs.) First of all, whether these workers sedated this elephant or not, they sedate many in their videos. My original comment was intended to be a broad observation because I've watched many of their videos and a large percentage of those have no conclusion, whether visual or written. Second, I did NOT expect you to recognize my name, but you can search for someone in other video comments. Third, I must say, you've had a bit of a temper fit here. Take a breath and go for a walk or something. You say you're not an "imbicile"? I guess you mean an imbecile. By the way, I didn't call you an imbecile but if you can't express intelligent opinions without resorting to 4 letter words that are vulgar... Fourth, your comment that these videos have no conclusion (written or on video) is EXACTLY the point I was making in the comment that apparently got you enraged. So, no more back and forth on this. I'm all for critiques and exchange of ideas (which I made and triggered your anger), but I prefer not to argue. So, bye. And last and most important, I pray that God brings joy and peace into your heart.

@0megacron2 жыл бұрын
You have to turn on subtitles - they're not great, but they do offer some explanation. Apparently the elephant's leg was shot by poachers. The bullets are still in the leg and it's formed an abscess around the bullets. Unfortunately we don't get to see the removal of the bullets... this video is just 22 minutes of them waiting for the sedative to work.
