finally made it to one month on testosterone gel! hopefully any of you lovely trans and nonbinary folks who want to pursue HRT can learn a bit more about what changes can happen, and others who are maybe currently on testosterone can compare notes on what's happened to us :)

Don't worry about your face, it's most likely water retention. When I began I was bloated for the first 3 months (and, as I am not a skinny dude, I was a walking water-bed...), then it gradually receded through the 6th month, leaving behind... A brand new Adam 's apple! (joooy!) 😝

I hope you'll feel more comfortable in urself now bro. I'm in the UK, came out at the start of covid when I was 18 (well technically I came out over and over from the age of 13 with the right words and everything but my parents were like 'you'll grow out of it' despite me being this way since I was 4 and being very vocal abt it lol, still a little salty and I know I shouldn't be but at least they support me now and I'm grateful for that), now I'm 20 in 2 months and I'll still be on the waiting list for years, can't afford to go private, I have a few transphobic members of the family who I mostly avoid unless I'm forced into situations, it just sucks rlly but at least I can be myself finally and I actually want to live now lmao, yeah sorry for dumping in the comments

thanks and you actually can't find binders in most retail stores you pretty much have to buy them online, i always recommended GC2B they have really nice binders in all colors and sizes but if that's too expensive there are always binder giveaways happening on some corner of the trans internet if that's helpful

How old do you have to be to go on T?

depends on where you live and who you go see for treatment, my gender therapist/endocrinologist only treat people over 17 and that's generally the rule in the UK, but i do know some places in the US you can be as young as 14/15 and get on hormones and it all just depends on your situation

hiya! i wanted to ask if you’re aware of the damage using testosterone gel can do to other people? testosterone from the gel can travel via skin contact (even through clothes) and affect other people as what is called ”secondary testosterone”. this can be especially harmful to women and children. in case you already haven’t, it’d be good to talk to an endrocrinologist and check papers that have been written about this topic.

yes im aware, my endocrinologist gave me all the necessary information i needed to know before starting gel, also i apply my gel to my thighs and since i wear pants my skin never makes contact with anyone else
