Great video, thanks! My pet peeves are that for some reason the car forgets the sign-in credentials and you have to awkwardly enter the password from the touchscreen. The sunglass holder is fiddly to use, the lid design is basically just for flat specs and the compartment is very small. Have had 2 sw updates so far one in August, another mid September, both took around 20 minutes.

I rarely have sign-in issues on the Lexus Interface. Did you link your key fob to your profile? Interesting that you got 2 software updates. I only have 1 update and it was March 31. Nothing since then.... still waiting for an update.

Excellent review. 12 hours to charge is a long time however your electricity pricing is cheap compared with Australia where we pay about CA$26 cents/kWh. We export average 27kW to the grid each day for an income of CA$4.2 cents/kWh so diverting into the car makes sense. I have instructed my electrician to extend dedicated circuits into 2 of my 3 garages. I will be ready for Lexus to install their level 2 charge but will be prepared to pay for a smarter charger if necessary. Being sub-tropical, the temperature rarely falls below 16°C and most driving is in the high 20s. A/C is always on. It will be interesting to compare our EV range to your cold weather. We have ordered more solar batteries for our PV system so I will be ready for a full EV in 2 years, hopefully with much improved batteries. Keep up the good work.
@lsft2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your positive feedback. 12 hrs is long but works for me at this time. I'll be providing updates as the weather here fluctuates a lot. We can get as cold as -40°C to 40°C in the summer. Unfortunately installing a level 2 charger for me is going to cost an arm and leg. My main circuit panel will need upgrading and then rewiring. Keep me posted on your usage and EV range.

Anyone who does NOT have 230/240 volt power available SHOULD figure out HOW to get this TO where the vehicle is going to be parked. Using 115/120 volt power is completely and utterly ridiculous no matter which way you try to explain it. If you're going to spend $50K, $60K, $70K, or $80K or more, on any PHEV, THEN MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 230/240 VOLT POWER WHERE YOU PARK IT!!!!! And you DON'T need to use "premium gas". It is only a "recommendation". Most EVERY vehicle manufactured, "auto-adjusts" timing as it drives. I didn't realize there are actually people who need to take a course on "how to close a car door". Anything "technical" is most certainly not going to be found here. I found this "critique" pretty much useless with respect to performance and quality of this vehicle ....which is the "high-end" Toyota RAV4 Prime. .
@lsft Жыл бұрын
I don't agree that 230/240 is required. It all depends on your needs and usage. I've been on 120V and it works for me 95% of the time. If you are buying a $50k-70k car, you care about premium gas over regular gas. Use premium, not like you can't afford it. There is a reason why it's recommended. But I accept your views since that's your needs and what you will consider when owning this vehicle. Everybody is different and their needs and desires are different. You don't need to accept what I say about my ownership experience.

No - I did not get any tax incentives. I assume you are in Canada as you said provincial. In Ontario, we do not get any provincial rebates and for the federal rebate, the F-Sport 3 trim and the Executive do not qualify for the rebate. The package price is higher than the maximum qualified. The base Ultra Premium qualifies for the rebate which makes it a very good price. My understanding is Quebec and British Columbia does offer provincial rebates.

How far does a tank get you on had only? I've been debating this one but I'm still getting over 1200 km a tank on my diesel X5 on 85l. 5.8 l/100 on the highway after delete.
@lsft2 жыл бұрын
This is a very hard question to answer. It really depends how much you drive in a day. I've driven 1135km to date and have use 3/8 of a tank. I'm still using the same tank of gas the dealership provided. I recall the car says that I have 800ish km per tank of 55L. Right now 3/8 tank I still have 454km remaining. The reason why I say it depends is related to the EV range. If you drive less than 60km a day you can use zero gas. Even if you drive 100km per day, you use 40km in gas. Hope you get my point.

@lsft2 жыл бұрын
How long have you had the gas in your car? You should use a tank within a month or two before the gas goes stale. Or when you need to use the gas engine, it may not start. Switch to HV mode to force it to use the gas. Or charge mode to use up the gas to charge your battery. Btw, you have great taste!!! 😂😂
@pepperwong2 жыл бұрын
@@lsft Thank you very much for your reply. I got my car on Mar 5. I guess I have to use the charge mode then. The Lexus delivery guy told me charge mode is not good for the engine. @lsft2 жыл бұрын
@@pepperwong The car is too new and a lot of the sales aren't well equipped. It's a bit unfortunate. You should use HV mode and use the gas a bit. Also plan a trip to use the gas. Next time you fill up, don't fill it up to the max. Fill half a tank. In the winter you may want to fill it up as in the colder months the engine may turn on, but you'll need to see how long you used up a tank of gas. Try not to keep the tank of gas too long.
