This looks just like some of the cars that used to roam the streets in Nashville in my automotive awakening during the late 60's through the late 70's. Folks built them in backyards and tiny garages with cobbled together parts from other cars and trucks, literally with a few tools, no transmission lift, we bench pressed them in place, brecko blocks instead of jack stands. Then one day they just disappeared. IMO as an OG, this is way cool! Thanks for sharing the build!

Good job, Dan. Reassembly was a lot smoother than disassembly. Looks like they sent you most of the right parts. It’s going to be a lot lighter than the factory front end. Good to see Dani doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty. Good help is hard to find. She is a keeper. 👊😮👍

Hey Dan . Got some Frame Connectors. You got to remember that the car is unibody if you don't use connectors on it A-frame will brake light on the rear wheel well and a car will break in half I seen it happen two different guys they didn't put frame connectors in it'll break right in half

Ok CLOWN, now you've got me thinking about doing this to my '63 Valiant (about the same size as a Chevy II) AFTER I just spent about $1500 on QA-1 stuff to make it a legit Street/Strip car! Got Hedman Husler fenderwells, a Holley Pro Dominator Tunnel Ram, parts for a NASTY screaming small block, & 4-Speed pedals! Just needs a floor & a cage. Basically just dig a hole & build a building! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Looking forward to seeing yours rip it up! You've come a long way bud! Proud of ya!

I built this when this west coast guy was stuck in Transcona & Winnipeg fall of 1966. I'd seen an early A/FX COME Funny car, injected nitro, altered wheelbase Chevy 2 from south of the border. I bought some 100 wall 2x3 tubing, round tube & some plate steel from a metal supplier downtown Winnipeg. Used my drafting kit to design it & found a welding shop somewhere in the Elmwood area. "Found" a tubular axel abandoned In a field, turned out to be a 32 Plymouth. Reamed ends to fit early ford king pins and spindles. Easy peasy, cost me hardly anything.Brand new 427 big block from Winnipeg motors. I was ahead of the game in 66 I think. Stuffed in a free CN boxcar when CN shipped my ass home to vancouver and I finished it in dad's Surrey carport. It became a B/Altered when Funny cars had changed to full tube, full fiberglass bodies. Only my front end was a one piece fiberglass piece. Quite amusing to watch you doing something I regarded as redundant 50 years ago as I raced two real funny cars during the big west coast funny car wars of the 70's and 80's. Love it.

Dan Cal track bars for the rear, simple easy to adjust ,work great. Work good with the stock mono leafs, with out them it’s wheel hope city especially on a sticky track.👍

Heads up, you need to check that caster once car is at ride hieght with wieght on it. The way its set in reference to the frame, the frame would have to be level with the road which is highly unlikely. Super cool project though, we enjoy your content and thankyou!!
