Lizzie's condition is actually Marfanoid-progeroid-lipodystrophy syndrome (MPL), of which there are fewer than 10 cases that have been reported as of 2016, making her a rare jewel. She has testified before Congress in support of anti-bullying legislation and is the subject of an award-winning documentary, A Brave Heart, that chronicles her life and her anti-bullying activism.
