Mahalo Kamakapili for sharing Hawaii's history, culture, and traditions. These short exerpts are well done and a great educational platform for both Hawaiians and none-Hawaiians a like. "And now you know" . Keep up the great work! and again, Mahalo for sharing!!

Kamehameha attacked immediately after O’ahu had fought another w^%, they were exhausted and lost many men… thats not “instilling fear” into people, it’s cowardice. Kamehameha was very opportunistic, and cunning, his cousin helping him win over the big island, then Kamehameha took out that cousin so he wouldn’t have anyone strong enough to take him out.

Why wasn't there a "battle" to preserve the kingdom from overthrow?! Did the Queen have an ARMY? I never heard of one while taking Hawaii History.

she had the army but feared bloodshed that would ultimately lead to defeat. besides, the ships of the US navy could have easily turned on the common people instead. there was the wilcox rebellions but being US naval help it was rounded up quick. it was small sadly and rumors of it lasted through O'ahu alerting the provisional government
