So glad I stumbled in to this podcast. Totally binging at the moment 😂. I turned 40 this year and decided to pursue a healthier lifestyle. So far I’m down 65lbs and as strong as or stronger than I was in HS. You guys have affirmed many of the good habits I’ve started and I’ve already learned a lot than I can do to make this a life long change and improve my strength gains as well. Thanks so much for making all this free to the public. Keep up the good work! I also love the more entertainment focused segments!

Down 65lbs... Dude you're amazing that's not an easy thing to do. It requires commitment and consistent dedication. I hope you're also strength training. It's the best most effective way to KEEP that weight off, as well as reap so many health benefits

@@daayemshehzad thanks! The biggest change was diet obviously but I started with V Shred 🫣 I know but at least it was something. I started doing my own research in terms of nutrition and exercise routine and have learned just how lacking that programming is. I am strength training 4+ days per week and walk 15k per day. Other than that I might do HIIT 1-2 times per week or 0 if the mood strikes lol. I’m down to probably 20% body fat now after 8 months and thinking about doing a reverse diet before trying to cut more but really hung up on that decision. I’m still making progress but it’s slow. I’d like to get into the 10-15 range for better definition. I absolutely love talking about this stuff now and learning more. These guys have been awesome. I’m going to start trying some of their priming movements before my lifting routines to see if that boosts my performance in strength training.

I relate to the mood boosting benefits so much. I was having what I call a bad body day yesterday. I suffer from body dysmorphia and on my bad days I “body check” compulsively. Once I got to the gym it all melted away. It’s like magic for me.

Could of sworn it was this episode, but if had the channel on all day and swore I wouldn’t forget. the topic was building a business and knowing that becoming certified trainer, the business aspect is so important, however I can’t find the part of the episode where the acronym for the recommended was said. Wasn’t NASM, very interested in checking out the recommended certification path and buisness building if someone could tell me the acronym again. Thank you !

I totally expected you to poo on semaglutide. I am shocked it is muscle sparing. I’ve got a couple friends on/trying to be on it and I was enticed even though I’m relatively lean 155 5’5” pretty buff - until I thought about losing muscle in the process and I’ve cautioned them of this. Would you caution against the casual use of it to drop to a lower body fat just for cosmetic reasons or easier/faster cut? I have also heard it’s a forever commitment for most people the weight will come back if they discontinue. Anyways I love hearing all your takes on everything. So curious, what do you think of serovital advanced? I’ve been using a month and am a huge fan. I think it claims to boost hgh production, to what degree I’m not sure. It’s roughly $100 a month which I think is fair. Any info on it or better alternatives?

Aw, I gotta disagree with Sal on a couple things regarding the second guy's question. First, I think it IS advantageous to understand genetic limitations, especially if you're aspiring to enter sports. Knowing that you've got a terrible build for swimming, you'd be better off understanding why you might not have the natural ability someone else might have. Heck, for boxing it's important to know. I boxed and lacked the wingspan of some of my competitors. Understanding this, I modified my tactics and landed in the top of my class. Understanding genetic limitations can also help avoid injury in certain sports and even strength training. Totally disagree with Sal here. Also, I partially disagree with him on sports not leading to certain physiques. They typically won't alter your bone structure, but certain sports will build certain physiques. I don't understand why he'd even say that if he considers bodybuilding a sport. But train like a marathon runner and you'll look like one. Same with sprinters. Same with football players. Even boxers to an extent. It's a lot like weight training in that you train certain movements over and over and this shapes your muscles (and actually bones in some rare cases). I liked the guy's questions. As someone who used to box and who's passionate about combat sports and martial arts, I think the question could've been answered way better.

My beloved cat died on me out of the blue this week, just days before starting a new job that has me stressed out because of the learning curve. Needless to say it's been rough with the depression and anxiety. Started doing some stretching and focus sessions today, just something light to stay active but especially for my mind, and it felt good to listen to you guys after not tuning in for nearly a week. You guys are like the gym buddies I never had, thanks for existing!

YO Josh. Do NOT change your bag work to AFTER weight lifting. These guys know a lot of stuff for sure, but their martial arts knowledge is limited. If you put your bag work last, it could end up putting too much strain on your tendons and ligaments. Doing bag work is usually an explosive type of strength training, not just cardio. So it will require more from your tendons than usual weight lifting. You could end up getting an inflammation because of this and not getting any strength increase of any kind. I've made this mistake before. Also be sure to focus on doing the reps of all exercises slowly, focusing on time under tension, it will put less strain on your joints and if you do it right it could activate smaller muscle groups more efficiently. To ensure you grow in both speed, power, and overall strength, you want to do the bag work first, and then tailor your strength workout for that day based on how much you feel like you can do after. Always train smart before you train hard.
