Just recieved mine yesterday. Absolutely love it and the movement is a beauty!! I commend Nomos and congratulate them. For a company that only produces 20,000 watches a year, the quality if incredible. Love the content

I own the dark dial variant, and absolutely love it. I still maintain that this is a very strong one-watch contender. Versatile, 100m WR, in-house, original design, and great brand. If you want a great watch for around 1000 bucks, this is it.

Some of the comments on here just show you how difficult it is to keep watch geeks happy, bauhaus specifically try and do something a bit different in design and people absolutely lose their s**t over a bit of colour or a reversed californian dial. Personally, as an owner of the 36mm, I love the original take on the californian dial - it really works. I love the fact its pretty much the only watch with the correct 4 as a roman numeral and I love the pop of orange. Yes the lugs are long but that's why Nomos offer a 36 also, the lug length means that the watch face doesn't look like a dinner plate but the span still gives wrist presence, and is a great design. Maybe the Germans concepts on design are a little bit too advanced for people that haven't tried on the watch? A couple of footnotes I would add to this review, DO NOT buy the closed back version, the whole point of this watch is it has the best looking movement at its price point. And the Lume is not good, don't buy it for particularly useable lume, it's pretty poor.
@jerrymathers113 жыл бұрын
I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. I own the 38mm with display back and despite having some bigger watches (42mm SM300, IWC Pilot Chrono), the smaller size is a nice respite and a welcome change once in a while. The watch forums are full of geeks constantly griping over minutiae, particularly the "everybody copies everybody" type. Then, when someone does something different, they collectively p1ss themselves.

@GainingOne3 жыл бұрын
Pet peeve - brands releasing smaller case sizes and butchering them with super long lugs. If I want a smaller 38mm watch, I want a smaller watch! Why push in the other direction with long lugs? Tissot is another perpetrator of this crime. Hamilton too. Still amazes me that only Rolex can seem to get smaller case sizes properly proportioned. Many watches that would otherwise be 'buys' for me turn into hard 'no's because of the lugs.
@reedgrabowski83143 жыл бұрын
Very valid point!
@lucioledizerot1963 жыл бұрын
I think you're looking at it from the wrong direction. Nomos wants to create a 38mm watch that the mass market will buy, which means it needs to feel bigger than 38mm. Same with the other brands. Enthusiasts will appreciate the 38mm and average buyers will appreciate the wrist presence. On another note, I have a 16cm wrist and my Club Campus wears beautifully, not big at all. my instagram is watch_journey1 if you want photo proof.
@GainingOne3 жыл бұрын
@@lucioledizerot196 I can see that side of it too, good point. Though I still believe brands could gain something by not trying to sit on the fence between a larger and smaller case (giving us something 38mm with shorter lugs for example). Despite my initial comment, I think this Nomos is a great-looking watch.

I hope to own a Nomos one day, but it won’t be the Club Campus. The mixed Arabic and Roman numerals really bother me for some reason. To be fair, I’m older than the Campus Club target audience. My choice would be the Ahoi if I’m looking for something sporty or the Orion if I’m looking for something dressy.

My favorite Nomos watch is the Minimatik Midnight Blue, but I do like the clean look of this and being a Photographer I can appreciate how the dial is laid out, where your eye is drawn around the face with the two style of numbers and then plays with you by leaving a blank void for the 6!

After a month's wait, I just got mine delivered from Europe. 38mm, white dial, sapphire back. I have to say I'm a little bit disappointed. 1) The dial appears as white in all the photos, but it's actually a light gray. Very little contrast between the dial and the hands, except for the little orange seconds hand. 2) The numbers in the minute track and the seconds track are microscopic. I think the dial would have been better without them. 3) The minute hand seems just a tiny bit too long, as if it's almost about to scratch the bezel. 4) It wears bigger than its measurements. I'm almost sorry I didn't get the 36mm, which also has the orange numbers, which I realize now I prefer to the gray numbers on the 38mm. 5) Most importantly, after not even a full day of wearing, it's already running more than 30 seconds slow. Nomos claims accuracy within 10 seconds a day. I will however say that the case build is top-notch and the movement really is gorgeous. If you get one, spring for the sapphire back.

This one is challenging I admit. It’s a California dial but not because of the seconds sub dial; it’s not symmetric which blows the look of a classic California dial. So it is-ish; but is not what it looks to be. Strikes me as a piece that needs to be seen in the metal to truly decide on.

Teddy, you said "speak to" three times in this video. You can't "speak to" something that has no ears to hear. You can talk about them, and tell your listeners though. You don't sound sophisticated saying that. At work, I notice people who have also use this incorrect saying are the types who mimic people higher than them on the corporate ladder, and also tend to say, "whole 'nother." Brown nosing and immitating the incorrect speech of others around you is not intelligent or sophisticated.
