forget about Dave for a minute, forget about tribalism, forget about ratings and numbers and instead just think about wrestling, the pure joy and spectacle and yes even ridiculousness that is watching two grown men pretend fight one another in a ring. if you at all watch wrestling *for* the wrestling then you owe it to yourself to find a way to watch this match, it was so crisp and clean and full of amazing moments! it was truly one of those rare matches where everything just came off perfectly and the crowd only helped fuel the fire.

High praise, and every bit of it deserved. One of the best matches I've ever seen and what I want in 2024. There were so many superb aspects to the match but the finish where they'd thrown everything they had at each other and it boiled down to hidden blade v psycho knee was next level. Then the call back to BD's post Forbidden Door comments about the Tiger Driver '91. It was a masterpiece.

This might be my new favorite ending to a match ever. The previous was Akira Hokuto vs Shinobu Kandori Dream Slam 93 where both women are completely spent, running only on adrenaline and pride, trading big, sloppy, ugly haymakers until Hokuto clocks Kandori, Kandori collapses and Hokuto collapses on top of her for the 3, it was the perfect ending to that match. Ospreay and Danielson did the samurai ending where both samurai ready their swords and they both know one of them is not surviving this, then both charge and clash swords and one of them falls dead, this was the rasslin' version of that.

Ospreay is associated with the Don Calis family & has been talking shit about being the best in the world. Bryan has called him out, saying to get that title he needs to beat him. Don Calils has been claiming to be on his side and has been beating up Bryan and the BCC, however Will hasn’t wanted it, planting the seeds of them turning on him. Don also has seeming wanting Will to fail by continually putting him in matches with his own stable. This match was leaning into Will learning he doesn’t need Don to win which he did to beat Kenny. Something Bryan has told him. A great match with a build leading to Will being a top baby face who can do it on his own.

Acknowledging on TV that the match was had because they are the best performers of moves defeats the whole purpose of pro wrestling. Sure, we all know its fake. But if during Iron Man RDJ looked into the camera and said "I'm the best at acting in this movie" he wouldn't be wrong necessarily, but it would ruin the enjoyment of the film for a lot of people.
