Glad you liked To End All Wars, I remember being shocked by the Pankhurst stuff in there especially. I own King Leopold's Ghost but haven't read it yet.

The Pankhurst stuff was really interesting! I had read up on the Pankhursts before so I knew some of it but there was a lot of new information! Thank you so much for the recommendation. It really was one of the best books I have read this year. I think you would love King Leopold's Ghost. It pairs really well with the book Cobalt Red. You can read all about the past exploitation of the Congo and then move to Cobalt Red to learn about the present exploitation of the Congo, it's people and it's resources.

Great reviews. Spain in our Hearts is on my TBR. I wish you'd named the Kingsolver books you liked. She has a huge backlist and I've only read Poisonwood Bible, which I very much liked.

I need to read Spain in our Hearts! I have read 5 Kingsolver books and one of my favorites was The Lacuna. I didn't love Unsheltered but Demon Copperhead was also really good!

Oh the beautiful embroidery! My, are you talented! I am going to add Hochschild to my tbr immediately! I enjoyed (for the lack of a better word) King Leopold's Ghost immensely. If possible could you also state which book you read physically and which on audio, in your videos? I'd love to know which audiobooks to look out for through these recommendations.

I stopped keeping track of which books I read on audio vs ebook a while ago since I noticed I started to get too preoccupied with if the number was even 😅 But I will for sure try to keep you updated when I remember and I will work on making sure to mention stand out (good and bad) audio performances! I did listen to the audio of Flight Behavior which was interesting because it was narrated by the author. I am never sure if that is the best decision 😂

I'm not interested in wars but I love great historical nonfictions and will check out Roshchild to see what else he's written. . Kaikeyi is on my TBR. I also appreciate my loving spouse when I read about characters chained to awful people.

I highly recommend King Leopold's Ghost. It is really tragic but a great historical non-fiction!

Wow I liked A Woman is no Man so much better. I hated the MC in evil eye and the writing was so bad.

I think I connected more to the MC in Evil Eye than in A Woman is No Man. I didn't notice anything poor about the writing but I did listen to the book on audio which can cover a multitude of writing sins 😅 For me, the book was very hard to put down and I pushed through it really quickly!
