Really missed your vlogs. No one else like you who can give such great descriptions and historical info

Love the history and heritage bits that you work hard to include in your vlogs. Great stuff Greg! Hopefully can bump into you and share a meal one of these days!

Interesting note that hawker Chan once worked for her. Haven't tried either stalls but prefer balanced flavours to overly savoury which sets off palpitations. Hope they offer gizzard too.

Haha from your videos, Chinatown Complex seems like one of your favourite hawker centres, Gregory 😁 Great recommendation as usual! I love how you feature stalls that aren't the most "hyped" or "famous", and feature the under-the-radar hidden gems.

Came at the recommendation of Reddit, was rather pleased by the standard and details of the commentary. Thank you for the good work, and definitely subscribed!

Incredibly insightful video! Really diving deep into the history of a seemingly simple hawker stall, going more than just the taste and presentation, but its origins and heritage as well.

Hi Greg..Am a Malaysian working in sg for the past ten years. Steamed chicken rice is one of my favorite dish and I have tasted many stalls all over sg. Hope you will go to Redhill's Hua Kee and do a review there. Loved to hear your thoughts , thank you

To be honest, after tried this a while back it wasn't really too great (Not that Hawker Chan's one is any better to be honest). The breast meat was slightly tough, skin was silky and pretty ok though. Haven't tried the tofu, looks like custard pudding will have to try it next time I'm nearby. But great review, very well thought-out and descriptive!

3 years later.. the chicken is now $28 and a packet is $4.50 with 200grams include styrofoam box rice and chicken meat. . Oh and the signature tofu is $1.80.

There is a lesser known soya sauce chicken stall in Chinatown Food Complex name 肥爷爷. It is quite good too and reasonably priced.

The normal one. Virgin one can only be ordered as a half or a whole according to auntie. I’ll probably do a micro vlog on the difference between the two one day

How the heck are the stalls containing contamination when the utensils and sauce can be freely touched by anyone and not individually packaged?
@loveispatient08083 жыл бұрын
Don’t put the utensils on the tray, as the tray is not clean, it is not sanitized!!!
@The4Chews4 жыл бұрын
The soy chicken is definitely recommended but not the soy toufu. It's good toufu per se which you can taste the soy flavour and apart from that, nothing to shout about!

Hawker food served on disposable tablewares and untensils while eating in makes even good food taste bad. Even more so if there is soup/sauce involved.
