16:26 Dark is single resisted by Fairy but Dragon is double resisted. Thats the main reason you go for crunch. The debuff is a nice bonus.

No... Single type and double type are the reason why some attacks are 2x or 4x effective.... A single type fairy Pokemon will get same resistance for dark as well as dragon

@shaikhazharuddin8926 No, fairy is immune to dragon in the main series game, which is why it is 2× resisted. It's why ground types 2× resist electric, and why swampert 1× resists electric instead of taking neutral. Water is 1× weak to electric, but ground resists it 2×.

@@shaikhazharuddin8926Wrong. Fairy type, by itself, takes 39.1% damage (double resistance) from Dragon and 62.5% damage (single resistance) from Dark, Bug, and Fighting. Some types in the mainline games are outright immune to other types (Fairy to Dragon, Steel to Poison, Dark to Psychic, Flying to Ground, Ground to Electric), and in PoGo this is translated to a double resistance before accounting for any second typing. Check out a Rock/Steel type -- Steel double resists Poison by itself and Rock single resists Poison, so together they take 24.4% damage from Poison. Triple resistance overall.

Absolutely agree on the end of these seasons. It sucks being lvl 18 and I have no play in either cup so I'm going to miss out on rewards or I throw matches. Instead I just stop playing the game.

Last week's of gbl cups are awful. Master League is P2W, Ultra Fantasy cup is also slightly P2W (Registeel, Tapu Fini). No pokemon for these cups...😭

The debuff is ok, but the reason you go Crunch is because crunch is single resisted and Dragon claw is double resisted on 16:26

By the time catch cup arrives you should have completed your push and just be messing around for fun. Spend zero dust on catch cup, no double moves, and just have fun being goofy. People take GBL way too seriously.

Catch cup should be a once per year sort of event. Meta Doesn’t change often enough so having a PvP Pokémon for catch cup are greatly limited to community days and/or new release Pokémon.

I agree with you 100% about catch cup at the end of the season. Oddly enough, catch cup was what elevated me to Veteran level for the first time last season. I wasn't even going to play, but I cobbled together a team and started climbing like crazy.

I like catch cup if I've already invested in new things throughout the season since it's almost like a pseudo-remix cup, but I might rather have them make some sort of limited cup where only things featured in the season are allowed. That way they can have it limited, but if you already had a Dubwool built or something you can still use it.

Same sentiment! I am trying to reach Veteran for the first time... forced to play the last 5 games of open GL at midnight in my timezone as I do not have any good pokemon for open ML and the other limited cups. I slipped down to 2349 when I was about two positive sets away from 2500 ELO

Meh imo catch up is a great time for newcomers. who just got into battling, people who in fact just started catching some meta mons this league. Or even ppl like me. I've been playing gbl for the past three or four seasons, and I don't have close to, "every meta Mon" at good pvp stats, so I'm always catching better ones and replacing old ones. This time around I've been focused soloy on catching 96% and greater pvp wise retiring anything that was below. You're coming from a point where you already have your mons, so you don't want to invest into another of the same one, because yeah why would you? So don't play the catch cup lol, it's the END of the season after 3 months of playing the regular cups with a handful of RPS cups. I will say I do like the idea of it being at the beginning of a new season with ones youve caught from last season does sound more enjoyable, because then you can focus on making Pokemon for the possible new meta. But again you can just do that anyways and not play catch cups.

I returned to the game in the second half of June and in the two months since, ive caught a bunch of new meta relevant pokemons as well as much better ranked options of the ones I already. So catch cup does look like a nice time for me to climb. Even then I'd rather be saving for the start of next season in case there are significant move updates.

Catch cup is great for end of season for new players and allows then a chance to push with less chance of being railroaded by veterans But if there is ONLY catch cup (or Masters) it defeats the whole point

it goes both ways with the catch cup at the end of the season. for example, only now I managed to catch a good PVP IVs Medicham and after 500k stardust I have my own meta slayer

Catch cup should be an end of season “lightening round” type cup that has double rewards. If you’re willing to spend the dust you can get a nice boost to start the next season but it should be the 4th cup along the 3 main leagues. Just my 2 cents anyways
