Just bought this mic to see what the hype was about. So far, I’m pleased and shocked at how good it sounds for such a small mic. In comparison to the c100 it does have a lower self noise and sound just as good. Nice detail and clarity and doesn’t sound artificial. Glad I made this purchase.

Btw your voice is sooo good! I have musical ear and i can definitely tell you that you sing soo good! See you soon! (Just liked the video)

Thank you! I really appreciate it 🙌🏾 Well, I would definitely consider this one the Sony C-80 but if you are on a budget the the Aston, rode and sE will all work for your voice. @officialdiomer Жыл бұрын
I have both the c-80 and an Apollo, and I'm also a rapper. I love the mic! the c-80 is pretty sensitive, but imo it responds to proximity effect really well, so as long as you have a good pop filter you should be good to record 4-5 inches away from the mic and still get great results as long as your gain staging is straight.
@zanza_the_rewolverine Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the answer, I'm between Sony c80, Austrian Audio oc18 and uad Sphere DLX, what I don't like about uad dlx is that unison comes before the plugin, for example if you want to equalize or compress through unison etc it seems that it doesn't a lot of sense and then record in dual mono etc, convert to mono... I wanted to record straight away if I worry about too many things, hence I'm undecided between sony and Austrian audio OC 18
@officialdiomer Жыл бұрын
@@zanza_the_rewolverine yeah i feel you. sometimes less is more. it’s awesome what the DLX can do if you really need those extra capabilities, but personally i’d prefer to have a simpler mic setup. the OC18 seems awesome too, and if you know you need the extra polar patterns then it’s worth paying for that. i usually only use cardioid so the C-80 was the better choice for me. i record into it with a Neve 5211 and Audioscape Opto, which then goes into my apollo and i freakin love it. helps balance out my vocals so mixing is easier. but even then, you could record with similar plugins using Console. so you can still record with an elite chain thru Console and save money. at this point i think i’d rather have a decent mic with a great tracking chain than an expensive mic with nothing else recording with it(no preamp flavor or compression added). imo there’s no need to spend more than the cost of the Sony or OC18 unless you’re gonna get the best of the best like a ELAM 251, U67 or Sony C800G. but even then a Sony rep said that people at NAMM could barely tell the difference between the C-80 and C800G lol.
@zanza_the_rewolverine Жыл бұрын
@@officialdiomer the oc18 is cardoid only like sony c80, yes i think for reconding with the type of expensive Audio, is better to go on a big professional Studio lol

@@zanza_the_rewolverine if you have the money for it then yeah! but honestly i think we’re spoiled with access to great microphones and outboard gear these days. even decent audio interfaces these days are so good compared to decades ago. that’s why i’d rather record and engineer myself. and i do for all my songs

@kriLdaChrixt Жыл бұрын
The best is to turn it off while recording, however if you really need it use a gate in post and make sure to place the mic where it doesnt take up much of the AC. The low cut filter is absolutely useful but will ever so slightly change the tone of the mic. I own the C80 it´s super great
