@@vuhlezHonestly cause @WavyWayne gave a good review about it and said it was in his arsenal. it's cool but in my opinion I could of made a better choice "I think". I feel like the AKG p120 sounds better for my voice. But the C214 is definitely clearer but who says clear is always better. I also switched interfaces from the Scarlett 2i2 to the Volt 276 which has the Vintage button that gives me close to that dirty sound that I love. But I think the extra couple hundred was for the cool look and carrying case

@@ojvic7297 yeah it's decent maybe it was a better choice out there for the price range and I have the cheap p120 and it sounds better for me and my voice but I also switched interfaces from the Scarlett 2i2 to the Volt 276 which has a vintage button and it almost gives me that dirty sound that I love. But I think the extra few hundred was for the cool look and carrying case 😁

@yousendjoker8176 Жыл бұрын
Has anyone compared it to the shure sm7b? How does it sound compared to the Sony C80?
@fillianaire3335 ай бұрын
I have and use both. SM7 sounds 'beefier' is better for more aggressive rock/percussive style vocals (MJ used this of most of Thriller:), and needs more EQ to sit in the mix... you also need a clean mic-pre since it needs a decent boost. Once EQ'd and compressed, sounds amazing with a good mic pre... more 'in your face' sound. Its also great because it barely gets any of room sound (great for bedrooms/traveling). The Sony sounds great on most styles (especially smoother Pop/RnB). It sits in the mix great with very little EQ and has a more 'polished' 3D sound. This will need 48v phantom power and does get some of the room noise being a condenser mic...so if you don't have a decent sounding room, it will get into the mic and affect the overall sound (although its better at rejecting room noise better than some other mics in the same category). So... if you have a non-treated room, I'd go with the Sm7. If you have a treated room, probably the Sony. Hope this helps!

Would you say get this Sony Mic? Or the Shure sm7-B? Can someone help me on some advise, I’m using for Rap an R&b
@arslanjani1105 Жыл бұрын
For Condensers check out Rode NT1 (not NT1A) or AT3035 if room is treated. If not then, SM7B if room is untreated.
@WIIMTheMusician Жыл бұрын
The SM7B is a “dynamic mic” so it will mostly pick up sounds close to the mic making it very forgiving when recording in an untreated room. The sound is very smooth but lacks clarity and detail in my opinion. It’s better for podcasting and voice overs. I haven’t used the Sony but because it’s a “condenser microphone” they are more sensitive and detailed which is good and bad depending on your recording environment. If you have a booth/closet/treated room and are looking for a modern up front vocal, I’d say the Sony. But to each their own brudda!

i test the tlm 102 and the sony c80 personally. listen, the tlm 102 is good but "out of control" for me, has much more sensibility than i expect! looks great but for me is not a real "neumann",for a real neumann you should buy a tlm 103(super mic). The sony c80 is more strong than the 102, more creamy and gentle, more professional! i buy the sony c80 and it's fantastic. Do the right thing!
