This setup feels very sci-fi , like the tanning salon of the future or something. Or a bio dome on a distant planet, trying to recreate species lost on earth. Are the enclosures painted purple or is that the UV lights making it appear that way ? . The green and purple is a really neat color combo.

Kev, do u think snakes need exercise, or some kind of stimulus for their mind. Do u think they get bored.??Love the live plants. How do they stay so muscular when in captivity they are so sedentary, ( no hunting for food.) I think you could mark up or put some grooves on those perches( pipes) to give them some grip.

I know its not about the money- well its a bit about the money as NERDS a business- but those are some super expensive snakes right there. A healthy proven breeder female Amazon basin (Batesii) could cost like $25k just for a normal basin. Ones with super thick or unusual white dorsal stripes could be even more. The reason that is is simply due to supply and demand. Theyr difficult to breed and as kev says they take along time to mature and babies can have a fairly high mortality rate especially if you dont have alot of experience with them . Theyr bigger and usually more docile than the northern emeralds (caninus) and are ALOT more expensive. Basically they are the creme de la creme of tree snakes.

So I worked at Petco for about 10 days--long story--and while I was there I encountered a customer who needed a live rat for her carpet python. I thought, "Okay, I won't judge. Sometimes its necessary" and I asked her if she was struggling to transition her snake onto frozen thawed. Her answer shocked me. Apparently she came to her eating frozen thawed and this woman had to train her snake to eat live because, in her mind, it was "way easier" because she could just "throw the rat in the cage and walk away". I'm not even a snake keeper and I know that's not normal.
