I do tent pegging and you really need to trust your horse not to do crazy stuff with you especially because we have weapons in our hands and I heard about a lot of incidents that a slower rider stabbed the person in front of him because his horse was moving out of his lane and picked up speed but don't worry everyone survived including the horses

@@Alhaithamlover101 Unusual, that. Never heard of such an incident ever. But I suppose it could happen. We picked horses that were slightly bit-heavy, and tended to run straight, no friskiness; I was lucky to have a dead-steady mount who never deviated an inch, bless his heart. He was a total failure at polo, but very good at this. PS: Since you are Army, can't help just mentioning this. I was part of the team that beat Rupy Brar's Army team in 1980 at the Calcutta Horse Show (it might have been 81 - long time ago!). He shrugged this off and went on to win at Delhi in 1982.

A very intelligent ride, the jockey knew that the horse was always travelling well. The jockey kept the horse out of trouble at the rear of the field, and never lost sight of the leaders. It was a cool ride, but for me it was an intelligent ride.

@@attheraces The ride looks even more impressive if you watch the horses previous race where it was placed 3rd after cruising to the lead at the last before curling up on the run-in. Bridget Andrews was again the jockey, and this time she was determined to give the horse no time to pull up after hitting the front. Took great nerve as well as skill. If the horse had refused to go to the front close to the line she would have been absolutely crucified for the tactcs. Outstanding race-riding.

How do you know the horse was enjoying it? Did you ask him if he likes running full out for, what, three or more miles at breakneck speed. My guess is he would tell you hell no if he could speak to you. Would you enjoy such a thing?

@@janetwilliams7213 I worked with, observed and rode racehorses for over ten years. I learnt their language "Equus" pioneered by Monty Roberts. I communicated with them in their own language in the paddocks of some amazing studs and spelling properties. Darley Australia aka. Northwood Park being one. There are horses that truly love being ridden and challenged just like elite athletes do. I observed a deep mutual respect between horse and rider here. And a horse that was keenly enjoying the challenge before it. In nature horses run in mobs or herds, they innately race each other trying to find the lead position. You still have much to learn about these powerful and beautiful animals. Blessings

Assistant trainer Tom Messenger said: “Bridget gave her an unbelievable ride. She won on her a couple of starts ago at Lingfield and knows that she doesn’t do a lot in front and that was the case the last day when she got beat. “Dan and Bridget were adamant about not getting there too soon, but to ride a mare like that takes a lot of confidence. She is progressing nicely and obviously handles that ground as well. “The tongue tie has helped and we’ve done a few different things at home. Sometimes these fillies take a little bit of working out.”

Just watched it and it was a cool ride. Also watched a race I think it was where one runner completed the course while the rest avoided the hurdle so therefore the one that completed the course wins and the winning jockey was interviewed briefly.

I thought I would catch up on jumps racing so far. Coole Coody won the Paddy Power Gold Cup, Abracadabras won the Morgiana Hurdle, The Storyteller won the Down Royal Champion Chase, Shishkin won at Kempton and Bristol De Mai won the Betfair Chase for the third time in four years, probably the greatest grey since Desert Orchid. I must not mention Teeton Mill, Nacarat, Monet's Garden, etc. Watched Long Distance Hurdle races just this past weekend. The 2020 renewal will feature Paisley Park and Lisnagar Oscar. Trapper John was the first winner back in 1990 having won the Stayers Hurdle that year. Notable winners include Deano's Beeno, Baracouda, Inglis Drever and Big Bucks. Speak to you soon.

Just watched Envoi Allen's victory over fences at Down Royal. A contender certainly for one of the novice championship races at Cheltenham. Jack Kennedy was the rider. Looking ahead to the Ladbrokes Trophy on Saturday, one renewal from 1995 in the Hennessy Gold Cup days. Couldn't Be Better beat subsequent Grand National winner, Rough Quest in the Newbury feature but in the Gold Cup, the placings were reversed, Rough Quest second and Couldn't Be Better third, both were beaten by Imperial Call. Sunday's action include Fairyhouse where the Hatton's Grace Hurdle is staged featuring Honeysuckle. Epatante will run in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle.

We see everyday Jockeys giving horses great rides, wheather it being, getting the most out of their mounts thru strengh from the saddle, or cajoling the horse to put his-her best foot foward where it matters, or sitting what appears and often are extremely bad mistakes. This particular ride , to me at least, shows a young rider who has extreme confidence in her horse, therefore passing that confidence onto the horse through the telephone wires " i.e " the reins. This particular horse is obviously, capable of mixing it in better class races. I would however say, definitely top 3 ride of the season, if for nothing else " Balls Of Steel " on the big stage at Ascot. Bravo. Class ride.

I have now watched a few more video's of Bridget, so am now better informed, of what she has accomplished. As far as being an expert goes, far from it, is always someone who knows more. only commented as to what a confident ride she gave the horse.

Somehow I knew it was going to be that last place mare the whole time of the race. Give the grey that was in front credit though, she loves to run, you can tell by her ears always being forward except when the others all passed her, then she hung back defeated and her ears went down. It was sad to see her bright and happy ears flatten back at the end in defeat... she knew she couldn't stay in front and just gave up.

Bleddy hell. Someone who remembers Ekbalco. One of the few hot tips i had when it won a big handicap at 8/1. Knew a guy who had some work on at Roger Fishers stable. 3 tips and 3 winners. Wish he worked there long term and wish i put more on.

She either knew her horse was a straight forward genuine type who would quicken and go past the leader, or that's how the horse has to be ridden because it pulls up when it gets in front. If the horse is the former, then she was 'playing jockeys' and she should have put the race to bed earlier.
