Fun fact: that image of the horrifying-looking hominid with the back-bent knees at 05:15 has been used in numerous KZbin videos and other online sources, without citing it's source as erroneous 'proof' of the existence of either aliens of cryptids.

Absolutely crazy!! Like people think that the creature from this movie is a real cryptic. It's used everywhere on so many videos! It's basically they're definitive proof of the supernatural. I always wondered where that creature came from like if it were made as a prop or completely digital. Strange world we live in

RE: The blood on the kid. That was because the kid is linked to the dad, and when the dad (as an alien) got hit by the car, that caused the blood to be transferred to the kid... somehow. Logic isn't high on this film's list of priorities, and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.

It's legitimately great. The genuinely disturbing and surreal visuals, contrasted with the really grounded kitchen sink drama about a deadbeat dad turning up on the doorstep of the family he abandoned is really unique (to clarify what I mean: I take the stuff about him being a sexually predatory alien monster as metaphorical, so his human form is like a front that breaks down as he grooms the child and turns him against the other parent.) It really should just be nonsense, but somehow it actually has a coherently told story with a really unique approach to creating a genuinely horrifying monster.

"Told you, Jiffy" Has got to be the most hilariously brutal line in context for this movie. Just went and checked the wiki page for this film, and I'm still confused as to what just happened lol Although as far as the blonde living with them goes, think of it as a maid. It's a very 80's - 90's European thing to have a foreigner, usually French, Spanish, Hungarian, etc; as a dedicated maid/ cleaner, especially in Ye Olde Britain. It's still sorta done to this day, my German grandparents, before they passed, had to have a Turkish lady come over to clean their house for them every week cause of age related stuff. And yes, she did get paid.

As someone who watched this when I was faaar to young and living in England: - it's pretty normal when someone moves out they leave contact details with the new residents - We all pronounce our Ts. It's just that it's sometimes more subtle depending on the accent. - Do you recognise the Dad? As he got older he got more sinister looking, therefore got cast in villain roles. ;)

In the UK for some reason hot and cold water come from separate faucets. Therefore you need this rubbery device to wash your hair.

The blonde girl (the au pair?) is Maryam D'abo, who was the Bond girl in The Living Daylights.

This entire movie is built around the concept off the stiff upper lip. Hole torn to another dimension? Abducted by aliens? Now, now Timothy nothing to get upset about. Keep calm and think of the queen.

First few minutes of this and I've noticed Maryam d'Abo. Then when I saw her, I was surprised. She's well known as the Bond Girl, Kara Milovy, in The Living Daylights. Timothy Dalton's first film as Bond.

I waited until the end to Blow your mind!!! 💥 Jason kept saying, "Who are you?, and I thought he was trying to figure this out! :D Later the guys agreed on , the fact that she gave the movie class, they were right !! And it's quite a WOW !! As the previewed movie proper is revealed on screen/display, some credits flash by and the first is a trio of men? but unknown to me ... And then 2 more names flash up, and are gone, (I had to check it again but...), a woman and a man, he unknown… but the woman is Maryam D'abo, she plays Analise Mercier, pretty sure she is the natural blonde…. She's a British actress, who 5 years later we saw as Timothy Dalton's, 'Bond Girl', in "The Living Daylights"(1987). One of her famous cousin's is, Olivia D'abo, an "A" list international actor, maybe more famous depending how you rate it.. After 'Bond" Maryam got real busy especially in a whole series of "Bond" docu- movies and with her portfolio, has to be considered, at least an international "B+" list actor. Check her Wiki, etc.…

Guys I had a remote control tank (and Formula 1 car) just like that back in the 70s! They were a little expensive but not outlandish. Also the blonde girl is Olivia D'Abo sex symbol of the 80s, she eventually was Bond girl to I think Timothy Dalton
