@@gavindunagan2930 Here’s a few good ones: Sometimes, the best way to solve your own problems is to help someone else. A moment of quiet is good for your mental well-being. Follow your passion and life will reward you. Many things that seem threatening in the dark become welcoming when we shine light on them. It is usually best to admit mistakes when they occur, and to see to restore honor. It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If you look for the dark, that is all you will ever see. Hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength.

There's an exercise called "Grounding" used in therapy for anxiety attacks. The premise is that anxiety comes from worrying about the past (actions and choices made) and the future (things to come that "could" happen). What you do is place your feet on the ground (barefoot if possible), then focus and name things around you. The purpose is to pull your mind from the past and future and back to the present because you can't focus on your anxiety if you reconzie what's in front of you, what's real and within your control. Give it a try if you ever suffer from anxiety attacks. Anyways, this advice reminded me of that exercise. Hope it helps someone.

@christopherstephens2699
@christopherstephens2699 Ай бұрын
@@LunarSloth3885Grounding is only an exercise borrowed from eastern philosophies. It's just a step towards living in the moment. The past informs, the future is nothing more than the shape of the road ahead of you, and the only thing you can control is where you put your feet. All you can do is make the best choices you can in that moment with what you know. So long as you are genuinely doing that anyone who has a problem with it is talking about themselves and their issues, not you. If you get to a point of truly understanding that there isn't much room for anxiety. Being able to remain grounded and seeing things for what they really are all the time is not an easy thing though.

But they'll also forget it and ask for more and more. Give kids 25% of they want and 100% of what they need. Don't spoil them too much or they'll never be happy as adults. Pro tip: cycle their toys. Have a dozen or so toys out for them and another few groups of toys hidden away, and rotate them every few weeks. They are less likely to get tired of them, and you save money. That being said, the kid will remember you playing with them more than they'll remember the toys by themselves. 25 years later, I still remember my dad and sister and I playing with blocks in the middle of the living room, making a block city. I don't remember the hot wheels cars or yu-gi-oh cards because I played with them alone.

Star Wars Jedi survivor "The happiest people are the ones that find a balance in appreciating what they have and what they want." Recently, I came up with a quote on my own that you'll never find joy in a thing focusing on what it lacks. You see a lot of people that give bad reviews to a video game, for example, and a lot of the frustration is based on what is missing. Meanwhile, others absolutely enjoy it with a focus on what it does well. Same goes for life. If we focus too much on what we lack or opportunities missed, it can take the joy away from the things or the people we have in our lives.

I get what you mean, but games are a service that should be reimbursed based on what you paid Paying 70$ for starfield for example, is a waste of 65$ And it should get a bad review, so others don’t end up wasting their money, and find more enjoyment for less of their hard earned time and money Life is different, but I get what you mean
@gibster9624
@gibster9624 7 ай бұрын
@bornonthebattlefront4883 I'm actually glad you brought up Starfield. Because I genuinely enjoy playing it. There are lots of things to do in the base game it'll only get more and more with DLC like Skyrim and modders are a godsend. I'd the $50 bucks I paid for it was well worth the 120 hours I've already put into the game. Is it as much value as, say, Helldivers is as $40 bucks? Nope, but at least I can consistently play Starfield even offline. Starfield is a perfect example of people pretending the devs promised one thing and setting their expectations way to high and getting exactly what they marketed the game to be. Once again. Focus on what a game has and what it does well rather than comparing it to other games in the same genre because comparison is the thief of joy.

I thought he was talking about the always missing part of humans since the Fall. We want Eden but even if we got back there, we are different, so we never feel quite right/ home/complete. The Spirit of God that was breathed into Adam was lost but Jesus got it back. That's what's missing and it feels like a place. Of course the Devil wants you to live a little, get distracted from the fact His help got us into the mess and this place and time is ephemeral and he has a great deal of control but pretends he doesn't even exist...so don't take his advice. Lol. But God wants us to focus on afterlife and stop worrying when we give God the burden, we take on an easy yoke and live life more abundantly when we aren't striving. Accepting Christ so we regain the thing we lost in the next part of life is the real goal.bIf we focus on the living we lose the everlasting. Those who try to save their lives, lose it. Repent means realize control is an illusion and we just want back with God deep down, all.of us, because we know it was better. The issue is it's already been taken care of if you just admit you need a Savior and didn't earn it. Accepting the gift is easy when you set your mind straight and focus on Jesus Christ. The way, the truth, the Life...what we are all really seeking. Ask, seek, knock...

I've learned to do this, and it made work more enjoyable. I've noticed I laugh more and smile a lot more. Even on days that are bad, I still try to make the best out of it. Main character literally lived all the "what ifs" and lives she thought she could have been happier just to realize that she is already in the right life. "We only need to be one person. This quote is very helpful especially if you felt like you have lost someone or something forever. You can’t keep regretting things you did and feel sorry for the past bc you will never make any fun memories in the present. The reason I’m saying this is bc I know how it feels and bc of this, I now have nostalgic depression. Don’t be like me.

If you did something wrong then make a real attempt at amends, leave it in God's hands and pray then forgive yourself and those involved so the weight of depression is lifted. If you were wronged then it's much harder but still go talk to God about it as honestly as possible. I can say you are NOT alone and give your burdens to God and keep in mind the Bible calls the Rapture Of the Church the blessed Hope to keep a look for. Not all will sleep, some will be transformed and that's an experience worth staying alive for and possibly coming soon since many of the prerequisites have been fulfilled. It might not mean much to you but it might be hope enough to keep you going and increasing faith so the depression has less hold. 🙏🕊️

This quote takes a very dark turn once you notice the movie is about a man who kidnaps a woman he's obsessed with, and her story arc entails her having to forgive him because he was lonely and having to learn to love him in order to "make the most of where you are"... Pretty words that trigger good feelings can hide devious manipulation. So many people get easily fooled by charisma into adopting self-destructive or cruel behaviours without noting it.

While the overall "live a little" message is a cop-out for me; the other part is spot-on. "Wherever you'd be, you'd still feel this way" - shows so nicely that we're looking for the solution in the wrong place. Its not where we are, but how we are dealing with the situation. We want to run away, but some things cannot be escaped, only conquered.

Agreed. “Live a little” is bullshit, but the feeling of not fitting in and being in the wrong place is something that will always be there

For me, it was the perfect cherry on top. Interesting how different people analyze different media

I think so many human beings can relate to this feeling. The battle going on is inside our own minds!

It's okay to dream. Trick is that you don't lose yourself in the process of the journey.
