If I'm not mistaken the Keydeath meant nothing? The only key coins he had saved at the checkpoint were to the right and left of the pipe at the start of the level. He lost nothing really.

I HOPE RYU SEES THIS--Pretty sure the two coins you had that you "lost" from the key death at the end were the two in the blocks next to the pipe to the subworld at the beginning of the level (visible at 6:22). And since you go back there anyway after the second checkpoint, I think all of the red coins are accessible from AFTER the second checkpoint, meaning you DON'T have to redo the whole level again if you die after getting the key!! ...I think.

With all due respect, this was the first time that I started a Ryu video and a few minutes later jumped into the level myself. (Because I saw some path that he didn't) However, it's still so full of enemy spam and I have no idea which paths are actually mandatory and which are not :D Also: I guess the fact that it's still uncleared (excluding Ryu, off screen, at least until he uploads his clear of 35 minutes!!!)... means that people didn't try to speed up the way in which he cleared it :D Will try my best though lol Honestly: I don't know which hidden key(s) he found and which he didn't. But it's kinda exciting to manouver myself through this hot garbage. Although every spontanous winged Muncher can be the end...

The thing is that without all the knowledge combined, it feels like it's just some random guessing of where a vine might be, of where the creator wants you to go and so on. Now I watched the entire video and unless I missed it, he didn't find one of the hidden keys (the vine at the start. Don't climb it but jump while you're on the vine) And he just didn't figure out how to use the switch - so he put so much effort into cheesing it instead lol. To this point I haven't played ANY of the parts in the main world though :D I even doubted you need all that... BECAUSE of all the hidden keys... I'm so lost :D Also random enemies along the way have keys too... We DO know it's mandatory to have a P-switch because that's the only way of beating the final 27:36 part. As I haven't encountered a P-switch yet (but he has...) I respectfully take a step back from trying more :D I just wanna see him beat it lol. but 35 minutes is SICK... Update: Clear check is 4 minutes and someone just beat it in 5 minutes. Holy shit :D I wonder if with all those hidden keys, the red coins are even mandatory. Because IF NOT, you can skip all the garbage that leads to you coming out of the green pipe for the two red coins in the beginning...
