In the 80’s I caught up with David in Alice Springs a couple of time at CAAMA. I was responsible for the Panasonic professional video products at the time for SA and NT. I remember clearly to this day how committed David was to his profession and the Aboriginal people. How inclusive he was and supportive of helping their communities. There was always something about David’s character that made David different.......I now have a better appreciations having watched the episode of Australian Story as to what made David different. Amazing to follow the timeline of his journey through the story and see and hear clips of the time I got to meet him in Alice Springs in the 80’s. I remember CAAMA and the demountable buildings and the caravan studio. Brilliant snapshot of David’s life and journey till now. Best wishes to David.... Ian

I really felt that David .... that sense of belonging and deep respect for Aboriginal People and their land. My movements over the years encompassed all that you presented. I am sad we never crossed paths but in saying that and your story we did on many levels. Thankyou. I would sincerely hope that in the future someone like yourself will make a film on the shocking relocations of tribes out of the western desert country to Yuendumu, Papunya, and Balgo in the '50s and '60s. I had the privilege of knowing an Elder of the Pintupi People who shared this story and I have visited his ancestral lands since his passing.

I used to watched this show after school. I remember a lot of the kids at school were fans of the show because most of them came from Central Australia. Great mini doc 😌

I Love the "Australian Story" series. Check out the patriotic Russian men's choir from "Mulumgrad" (Mullumbimby). "Dustyesky" (dusty cooler box) is creating a new cultural revolution internationally.

What a pointless way to die, OD on booze and morphine. I believe parents and schools should have the mandatory education and obligation to take young kids to cemeteries or even morgues and auto wrecking yards and explain all the grim realities of making avoidable mistakes in life. Exposing lifes horrific realities in our sterile censored world with media and entertainment that glorifies stupidity. RIP Chris
