(The intersection at 3:23) Wow!! Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, I lived on 29th and Kilbourne. I remember there was a Viena Hot Links, or some kind of Hot dog drive through on the empty lot just north of the building that has the mural. The dollar store north of that lot across the street was a "Checkers" fast-food restaurant. Back then GM cars with automatic transmissions and tilt steering columns were notorious for being easily stolen. I had an 87 Camaro with a 305 V8 and five-speed that was unlikely to be stolen. I rarely locked the doors because I didn't want the windows broken (car thieves would only break the window if the doors were locked). I was at the intersection at 3:23 when a hooker tried to jump in my car, but the passenger side door happened to be locked. She knocked on the glass and said _"open the door, I'm the new girl on the block."_ I said _"no thanks,"_ popped the clutch and peeled out. Man, that felt great. Thanks for posting.

It was more of a mess back then. Alot of the problematic buildings and businesses have been taken down. It is quieter now but the crime is still there. This area was scary to drive through in the 90's. The low rent apartments around the area keep it a market for everything.

@oldschoolhiphop22753 жыл бұрын
Everybody was deep. I went to Pulaski H.S .around 1995. The LK's were deep on the south side, but the GD's were the absolute deepest at the school. There were very few BD's & they were exclusively from Chicago only. The Vice Lords had decent numbers ,& there were a few different sets of them. There were some 4CH's, but Conservative Vice Lord was probably the deepest. As far as the city goes it depends where you lived. I was on the Northside which was dominated by GD'S & B.O.S.

I've been here visiting all over Wisconsin there are many great places to live. I must emphasize that Wisconsin is an especially beautiful place to raise families and grow up. It has lots of beautiful lakes and plenty of great people. There are pockets of people that are up to no good e.g. Drug dealing, pimping, racist motorcycle gangs, black gang and Mexican gangs pretty much like most cities and states across America. My understanding is that we're all just human beings just trying to survive. In Wisconsin the good far outweigh the bad. This state deserves an A- overall.

@therustybelt91623 жыл бұрын
I'm not trying to present anything, just drove through the area and filmed it. The FBI does a report on the 25 most dangerous neighborhoods in America every year, and for most of the late 2010's this area (Around North 27th St from roughly North Avenue to the Freeway) was on the list. The FBI defines the list by the chances of being a victim of a crime while in the area. What this means - ALOT of crimes happen here and nearby. Is it dangerous to drive through in traffic during the day? Most often not. Numbers don't lie. Many times in the last 10 years this area had one of the highest crime rates in the country.
