As a son of a renowed Dutch architect, growing up amongst designers and builders, having travelled throughout Europe and visited many modern and (neo-)classical houses and buildings.....I can tell you this is just an example of very bad taste and has really nothing to do with neoclassical architecture or whatsoever. Just a stack-up of overkill on ornaments and display of over-the-top opulance. If this were situated in Europe.....man, people would laugh their socks off. "French neoclassical architecture...." yeah right.

I did an UberEats dropoff at this place. When you first approach the mansion from a quarter mile away, the size takes your breath away. I've been through much of Great Falls and McLean, and this is among the most impressive properties I've seen.

I am assuming it's an Indian that lives there because I dropped off a bunch of Indian food for an UberEats order. I got up to the gate and had to put it in the box. There was a security camera right there also. How much? I know there's another house in the same neighborhood about $7 million, 17,000 square feet. I assume this house is about the same.

I’ve come to the realization of how poor I actually am in comparison to the person or persons that could consider purchasing this wonderful example of French architecture. I don’t feel poor, I have no bills, my home is paid off and I have everything I need. It’s the grandeur of these homes that separates the haves a little and the haves a lot. The lucky owner of this property is obviously in the latter and I’m happy for them ( honestly) This type of architectural artwork keeps alive crafts that are going the way of the dinosaurs. I couldn’t stand that if it were to happen. Lots of builders make attempts at luxury houses and offer their homes as if they were a fine Swiss watch when in reality the only similarity is that they both keep out the rain. This example of true estate living is in a class by itself. As a retired architect I am thrilled to see the Real McCoy when given the chance. This home is truly warm and well drawn. I just love it. The magic of French architecture is in its proportions, its materials and the artisan workmanship ... There is nothing of that in these properties ... A hybrid between contemporary industrialization and the aesthetic lines of Renaissance ... Typical conceit of people who have a lot of money and atrocious bad taste

It's a palace on two acres. What a farce. The pool is stupid. It's tacky to the max. This sort of thing would never have been built during the period that the home is appropriating its ornamentation from. The proportion and shape is that of a mcmansion. If you want to use period elements USE PERIOD DESIGN.

I felt it was not gaudy as some others replying, but pleasantly opulent. They used the spaces very well and with the right flow to the home. There wasn't anything out of place or that didn't fit well. No excessively large rooms or wasted space. It was stylish, elegant and glamorous. I'd live here in a second and love every minute.

Nothing can beat Neoclassicism and his style, charme and passion. It’s an architecture that has a story to tell, and it stimulate your senses. As an Italian I grew up sorrounded by neoclassical influence all my life, and I’m so proud it happened. Italian and French are my favorites, no one provides house experiences like we do.. 🇮🇹🇫🇷

Thank you whoever buys this mansion for patronizing beautiful architecture. McMansions are not eye Candy. glass, concrete, and steel mega mansions taking up prime locations that I can’t of hurt my eyes from. If all the mansions dotting, the coast line looks like this, the boat ride itself would be an experience. (barfing at the modern mansions on Port St. Lucie.)

Keep in mind for people, talking about how only the rich can afford to live in luxury. Most of the rich peoples eccentric “tastes” are already exemplified in the mansions that dump the current landscape, as well as the taste of their building projects - modern. The person that buys this will pay for a craftsman, they create neo classical masterpieces, hopefully the first of many, and the beginning of a trend that will see the affordability and mass adoption of the style.
