I’ve said it my self and finally as a Santa Fe Collector of mostly F units & F7’s I’d hang on to all that you’ve collected because this stuff will continue to get more difficult to come bye especially the K Line offerings ! Thank you! Yeah, sometimes if something I really want isn’t made by anyone else, I take a chance on Lionel. Not very often though since other manufacturers offer several models Lionel had and also a lot more they didn’t. 👍. I had about 50% of my collection Lionel at one point, is significantly lower now, maybe 20-25% that I held onto.

This gentleman had all the GP9 & GP35’s from 2013 to current and how ever manny units in each set he purchased them all ! Also the Norfolk Southern F7/9 ABBA executive Locomotives also new in sealed shippers ! Talk about impossible to find in mint condition ? Or any condition for that matter ??? I purchased 14 engines total all the Geep’s are yellow bonnets complete releases in each group ! Man I’m stacked with Lionel Lagacy locomotives ! What’s your contact info Mike ? Have a great week !

@@Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies I had purchased the Union Pacific & Southern Pacific F7’s when you did and had them a month when I saw yoir video about the missing lift rings and messed up patina on the paint so o freaked and quick opened mine up and I guess I got lucky because mine where flawless, they did a nice job on the Southern Pacific in the Daylight scheme and I was totally pleased ! Take care ! PS But I’ve had bad luck at it,e prior with Lionel New releases ???

Sounds like a good haul, I had purchased two complete sets of the NS F7’s with all the passenger cars on the two pages of that catalog with the diesels. I opened them and kept all the best pieces from the two sets and sold the set I wasn’t as happy with last year. The GP9’s are usually pretty good. I had several over the years in legacy, now I’m down to the SF with silver stripes in Lionel and all the rest I have are MTH and Atlas. Do you have Facebook?

K-Line made some great trains and probably would have continued but Lionel bought them out and that was the end of that. Heck i think Lionel's head office in North Carolina is K-Line old office.

Sir, is the last car in the "lower"track called "Mountainair" ? You mention a HO scale set do you have any info on set number? Lastly the transition car is run in reverse, the one not shown in run in the forward, correct? Great trains, beautiful. Ralph

Hi, thanks for the comment and checking out the video. The last car is a Santa Fe Business Car. The HO cars are sold separately made by Walthers in their Proto line. Options of with lighting and passengers figures or without. Walthers 920-9641 is one of the model numbers. Yes, the other coach not shown is a step down coach. With the diaphragm high on inside of the car and on the lower level where passengers would walk into the business car for example.

Mike, it’s a tuff call on the Hi Level cars. Lionel patterned theirs on Amtrak first by putting twin marker lights on each end and on the Lounge Car having roof glass all the way across, not to mention that they are 18” cars. Plus they never offered a step down or Transition car. And K Line never produced the Lounge car. So if you really want an authentic consist, find the Golden Gate set.

Why's is there so much space between the A, B, and B units? In real life, the crew could walk between those units. With the original FT units of 1939, they actually still NEEDED firemen. They had to go back and forth between units and open or close radiator hatches depending on the conditions. And why so much space between the passenger cars? Didn't you know that passengers can actually WALK between the cars in real life?

That’s a draw back to O scale having operating couplers on the locomotives. I have cars designed for bigger radius track that are close together like prototypical. At the time these cars were produced the largest radius was 072 and a lot of people didn’t have larger than 042 or 054, so K-line wanted them to be able to run on tighter radius curves like many people in O had. The fun of O, is the size. I have N and HO for more of the actual spacing of trains but no operating couplers but remote control on those guys. Have to take the food with the bad a guess, no one scale has it 💯. Good questions though, thank you 👍
