Andrew Neeme wow that was extremely interesting hand.... I have been getting crushed my last 2 sessions in TX. Was up $13-1,500 in a $2-5 game and got crackAtooed! Top 2 vs a gut shot, piles go in on flop and on the river he hits it... variance. Then I spiraled to a 1,100 down swing. Which isn’t crazy considering it’s $2-5 but I left winstar pissed off 😡 I never leave mad and it’s been years since I was angry because I lost. What put me into tilt was another hand I had ace king and guy makes its $35 pre flop and I smooth call preflop. I was mad at myself for making mistakes. I’m done slow playing my big hands preflop in these TX games. I need to change my strategy completely for my next session to over betting and get the riff raff out of hand pre flop. Taking a week off an will hit it hard in 2 weeks

@@AndrewNeeme I just wanted to let you know that we follow you all the way from France man! Keep up the good job. I miss the U.S FOR all the different type of poker you can play in casinos, in France its all NL and its usually 2-4..not so bad it could be 1-2...but one thing I love about French poker players in casinos not in clubs (due to French laws, there's poker club also called "cercles", where you meet stronger poker players) most should I say poker player in casinos are fishes and that my friend, I love it... Just wish the poker room in theses casinos didn't close at 3am. So what if the flop actually favours that hand, don't think you should just fold and let them have it. That's such an exploitable mindset. Haha. I will announce I have 72o and the flop comes 722.. I remember that crazy AQ hand, I was sitting to Andrew's left on that table. Immidiately after that hand the villain just left the table in despair. Few hours later, when Andrew and Brad had already left, the same villain sat to my right. I asked what he had on that hand. He said he had pocket JJ's. I didn't get the sense he was lying and can't see reason for it, so that's probably what he had. He lost around $6k that night so it's not a player type whose plays make ton of sense 🤔

A check on the river increases the chance of the best hand winning. You bet, he jams, now what? There you sit with 2nd nuts and a big decision. There's always a game going. You don't have to get it all done 'this hand'. Each time you win a pot you knock more wind out of the opponent's sails.

However - To me it seems like it is the late late games when you usually run in to trouble, isn't it?! (That´s when you call to often on the Vlog?! Might be something you should to try to stay away from or have in mind anyway.

J9 call... tough spot. I feel like when we unblock all missed draws, block sets.... even with a "weak hand" this becomes a call. Especially when his value combos should be so few and as you say straights will raise turn at least some frequency. I actually think the hand is fine, just sucks to run into it. Great vlog as always!!

How is j9 tough spot on the river- it really shoudnt be if you know what is the opponents shoving value range on the river , and what part of his range is actually bluffes, i honestly think that his range on the river when he call reraise on flop, calls turn and jams river is like 95% value and j9 is dead against this range, but its ok i gueass Andrew and you know something more

@@postlezone-god5173 I don't think it's so cut and dry. I don't see how any of the action would preclude draws that missed (since there are a LOT of flush draws available). Kx is super unlikely aside from specifically KX that was also a flush draw (only a couple combos). And even adding AA to his opponent's range, there's just not that much value. If villain can show up with QT here, he can show up with a ton of missed FD's too most likely. Obviously there's some level of subjectivity here in assessing the likely range, but that's my perspective from my time playing a LOT of these stakes live. Literal LOL at "God's work" ha!

@postlezone-god5173 5 жыл бұрын
@@MattVaughan i dont know, may be you are correct about this stakes. but for me its pretty easy fold on the river , we are not beating value range , only range we are beating are flushdraws, but there are not so much flushdraws , you said a lot of flushdraws- how many combos exactly- not much , andrew always talk about blockers- I block that i bliock this, the truth is blockers are not so helpfull in no limit - they are good for omaha- My opinion is that Andrew is a callingstation , he loses too much money on the river- paying off big bets with marginal hands- just because he cant fold - i know you and him are friends, but he is callingstation!

19:26 Bad call I think my dude. The key to this hand is that you know your opponent is really strong when he calls the flop 3 bet. He then calls the turn and jams the river. I was 60% sure you'd be shown pocket 3s.

With the AQ hand on AJXJ... when a good player keeps betting the turn when that jack smashes your range, they usually aren’t bluffing
@connman8d617
@connman8d617 5 жыл бұрын
But I do agree with Andrew that good players don't bet a pair of jacks on that flop very often and players will often double barrel with air.
@coreysoden3313
@coreysoden3313 5 жыл бұрын
He "blocks" AJ as much as he blocks AK.. Not to mention the above comment, I think it's a fold. Especially vs a triple barrel from the SB, a jack is well within the squeezing range of a reg. Finally, repping that ace high flop into two players is a fine play. In my eyes he has AK or all of his Jack's for 3 streets of value, and maybe AQ which we chop with (but I dont think villain goes for 3 streets). Unfortunate runout, but calling river there has to be -EV in this specific spot. Great vlog andrew! 👌
@connman8d617
@connman8d617 5 жыл бұрын
@@coreysoden3313 I'm going to disagree with a couple things you said. Firstly, there is only one realistic combo of AJ (hearts) while there are many realistic combos of AK (because even AKo is a perfectly good squeeze hand whereas AJ probably needs to be suited to make that play). So no, AJ is significantly more blocked than AK. I think the opponent definitely has a lot of AK in this spot though and that would be my only problem with the river call. Then again, does AK barrel the turn when a 2nd jack hits? 3-bet, c-bet, barrel, barrel. How many value hands are going to take this line? The line feels super bluffy, like something KQ of spades would do. So, while it might be just a tad loose of a call, I can certainly understand why he made it. Well played by the villain though. He definitely knew that his pre-flop 3bet with his particular holding would throw a monkey wrench into the hand range calculations of the other players and he knew he could play the hand straightforward on later streets and get paid.
@postlezone-god5173
@postlezone-god5173 5 жыл бұрын
yeahh actually in a 3bet pot AQ is probably dead on the turn when the preflop raiser double barrels, but Andrew is a nice guy and he likes to pay off people like a slot mashine
@connman8d617
@connman8d617 5 жыл бұрын
@@postlezone-god5173 I think your analysis is too general here and is therefore wrong. So what if it's a 3bet pot? If anything, that makes AQ stronger because it takes a lot of Jx out of the range of the 3better. I still think that AJ is pretty unlikely, as is AA. I don't think AK barrels all 3 streets. You have to think about the combos that beat you and if the betting line makes sense with those combos. In this case there are not many that do, hence the call. It just so happens that the stars aligned for the villain of this hand. He 3 bet extremely light from the SB hoping to take it down preflop. When that didn"t work, he fired a c-bet on what would normally be a check/call kind of flop. When that didn't work he had the great fortune of turning trips against what he now knows is a pretty strong hand. Just very fortunate for him.

In general the dealers don’t work for tips so they are slower and don’t have an automatic shuffler so you see less hands per hour which forces you to play more hands and become less patient. If you lose you still owe for your rental. At the casino it’s more balanced. You don’t suffer as much if you lose
@ChristopherCLindner
@ChristopherCLindner 5 жыл бұрын
@@JamesWilson-sb9iq Most of the Texas rooms (including TCH) have special "tip chips" for the dealers now. I haven't seen automatic shufflers at any of them though, which I agree, sucks. And yeah, paying when you leave after losing it all sucks, but if you average it out, it's cheaper to play at the card rooms than basically any casino, and the games play bigger because they're not taking money off the table. It's really staggering how much the house takes off the table per hour.

Quick question Andrew, do you and the other vloggers ever communicate as to when you all will be dropping your vlogs. Seems like yourself, Bradley, and Jaman always seem to have vlogs come out at the same time. I love it!

What is wrong with the way villain played J10 suited. He 3bet OOP as a bluff assuming he could fold out perceived weak call button range. It didn't turn out but in a AJ6 board rainbow which is a pretty dry board cbet to rep a strong ace. When he binks another J he's just betting for value at this point. He was probably giving up on the turn if it was a brick. Thoughts??

Conventional wisdom would be that betting JT on that flop is a bit of a game theory disaster, because we're never getting called by a worse hand, nor are we ever folding out a better hand. We're also out of position for the rest of the hand, and pretty much have to give up no matter what if we encounter any aggression. I do think there are some good reasons to lead that flop with JT (see my post a few comments up), but standard good poker is to check there, typically. And yes, Andrew is just trolling me. I really should be honored that he assumed I would make the correct play there, right? :D ;)

Andrew why do you play the most at the Bellagio? I played there a couple weeks ago and the tables are so jam packed together that you can barely walk in between some of them. It does not make for a comfortable environment. Wynn & Venetian were way more comfortable.
@AndrewNeeme
@AndrewNeeme 5 жыл бұрын
They get the most/best 5/10 games. Venetian gets none and is also owned by a terrible human. I love the Wynn and play a lot of the deep 2/5 there.

I've been playing poker, at high limits, for nearly 20 years. Yet, Andrew STILL does certain things much better than I do. He's more courageous, he doesn't allow his "in the moment" thinking to be clouded by adrenaline, and he's willing to put large amounts of money in the pot with marginal hands. Those are things I struggle with above 1/2$. But, the only piece of advice I would give Andrew, and to anyone really, is this: Don't look for games at certain "limits/stakes," the primary asset a game could have is weak/new players. Why? Because you'll make more money at a soft 1$/2$ table (in the long-run) than a 5/10$ table full of experienced players. It is VERY FEASIBLE to "run-up" your stack from 300$ to 1200$ in a ONE-TWO$ game when the players are weak/new. But, running up a stack from 2,000$ to 8,000$ at a 5/10$ game seems VASTLY VASTLY VASTLY more difficult.

You know what would be hilarious? If dude actually HAD the wheel, and when you showed the queen of clubs, he just assumed you had ANOTHER club, folding for an extra 100$...When I first started playing poker, I'd occasionally do stuff THAT dumb. Poker is like life in the sense that you, generally, think you're pretty good/smart. But, when you ACTUALLY become skilled/experienced, you look back at some of the decisions you made, and it's 100% CRINGE.
