I used the FL brush until I watched one of your videos on detangling. You used a Denman D38. Now I only use a Denman D38 and my detangling time is so much faster. I liked the FL brush but it did take forever, sad thing is I thought it was supposed to take forever. And I did have to use it while rinsing out my conditioner.

Everybody always raved about Felicia and her brushes, but I never forgot how she destroyed Chime's (aka Hair Crush) hair putting in that Beautiful Textures: Texture Managability System mess. Chime had one of the longest, fullest heads of hair, and all her ish was DAMAGED afterwards!! She had to cut it all off! It was a huge controversy back then in the natural hair streets. She aint slick to me. 💅

@@AfrikanHairGod Yup!! It was a HUGE debacle, and Chime had to delete the video of the styling itself. For the next year, her hair was so damaged and limp, it never recovered. She finally addressed it, and later had to big chop. Felicia Leatherwood preformed the hair service. I tagged you the vids in Discord.

Well to be fair, the Beautiful Textures Naturally Straight System is essentially a formaldehyde free BKT. It requires high heat and is designed to keep the hair straight for 4-6 weeks. It seems like people had unrealistic expectations. People who want to maintain their curl pattern should not use these types of systems.

I’m side eying my brush now lol…I use the FL with a lot of conditioner going vertical to horizontal, so I know what you mean about it pulling your strands. I haven’t had much breakage but then again i’m 3c/4a, medium density, fine strands. When I detangle from a protective style (or if I have really tangled hair that week) I start with the tangle teezer brush (which is much softer on my strands) then use the FL to fully get all the shed hair from the root. FL has been the only tool to fully get at my roots, but now I need to try that D38. It went through you clients hair with ease! Thank you for sharing, it shows the true nature of that brush on tighter textures.

That’s interesting. I only use the brush for styling, similar to how some stylists use a three row comb or denman to define curls. It’s rare that I use a brush to style my hair, but when I do it’s that one.

I lost a lot of hair and she had the nerve to look into the shampoo bowl after she ripped my hair out and said that was a good amount of shed hair! I looked at her in disbelief. I’m still recovering. I had to get inches cut off from following BGC. My hair is just now starting to get back to normal. I’ll stick with my leave in, cream and oil. I have "4c" hair and I've had the FL for about 3 years I think. Since I do mini braids for a few months and rebraid each of them individually after a few weeks, I like it because it is small and can easily go through the tiny braids sections (after I finger detangle). But when my whole head is loose, I can't use it, takes too long, even when I'm in the shower with a lot of conditioner. The Unbrush works really well for me with larger sections (like the one in this video) in and out of the shower.

The Kazmaleje brush is honestly my most favorite detangling brush because it takes me about 10 minutes to detangle my entire head... however, my only downfall is the weight of the brush. I wholeheartedly agree with this review. I don’t even use the brush to detangle, I just use it as an alternative to the three row comb when I’m doing a wash and go, and even then it’s rare because I usually style with my fingers.

I have the brush, but I only use it on blown out hair. I wouldn't dare use it on wet hair because it's way too stiff it will definitely rip hair out (found that out the hard way lol)

I use lots of conditioner and water. It makes the hair easy to detangle. I have what yall call type 4 hair (I hate that mess), and it works fine. You have to use it vertically. Just like it you detangle with a comb. You do the same with the brush. Make sure to use lots of water and conditioner or your pull your hai out. Be gentle. It takes time to get used to using it also.

@Michelle-dm3nl
@Michelle-dm3nl 11 ай бұрын
@@BeYoutifulBombshell the teeth are long and flexible and spaced out, more so than other brushes. I think that's why it's just easy to work through tangled hair and feels very gentle without breakage and I can detangle my whole head in 15 min on damp-wet hair. I have tight type 4 hair that's well past my collar bone blown out and medium density. Works well on both moisturized/damp/wet hair. I can tell it's mostly shed hair coming out. If you have kids this is the only one I can use on my toddler with zero tears and it's very light compared to the denman d38. Cons: You do have to diligently brush in all directions to get all the shed hair out in a given section because it's more spaced out you will miss some shed hairs. It's also a bit flimsy for what it is and overpriced. The cons are not a big deal for me because I prioritize less breakage, less drama at bath time for my kid and I still can detangle quickly. I would keep the unbrush for wet detangling and use my denman d38 for blow drying but I don't mind having two seperate brushes and having to potentially replace the unbrush. If you want a brush that does it all and will last forever go with the denman. The denman price:performance is a bit better.

You definitely have influenced me!! 💕 I am excited to try the Unbrush for wash day and children’s wash day. Finding the right brush is just so hard but it’s necessary to avoid a difficult and unnecessarily long wash day. My stylist recommended the FL brush so I've used it for about 4-5 years. At first, I thought this was the best brush ever! But then I started to notice I was experiencing way too much breakage after detangling. I still didn't think anything of it. Using it with lots of conditioner in my hair, it worked well. However, I also noticed using it to help with styling not so much. I used it on my daughter's hair and she would complain that I was pulling her hair too much. So I recently bought a Wet brush and I'm like bye Felicia. Sorry, I gotta let you go. I can't believe how well it glides in my and my daughter's hair. She doesn't complain at all. And I don't have a bunch of hair on the brush looking like I'm suffering hair loss. btw I'm going to check out your shop and buy a paddle brush. I've been turned away from using that kind of brush. I'm looking at how fast you did your client's hair. I can't believe I've been using a horrible brush all these years.

I wave that brush and I dont reach for it often either. The handle is uncomfortable to hold with wet, slippery hands. If you dont hold it at a horizontal angle it will become rigid and snap ends. Hair has to be pre detangled. You can't use a big section. You cannot use it with blow drying as it will melt. It is supposed to mimic figer detangling but it doesn't. The bristles are ridgid. It is okay for looser textures. That are not tangle prone and straight styles. I have 4a/4b hair and my daughter's are 4b and 4c this did not work for wet styling and detangling either.
