Roy Harper in his element on stage with a guitar and pedals. One of his finest lyrics presented as it works best live and solo. Superb lyric that explores notions of Englishness as a rejected unemployed wastrel is lost in a moment. This wonderful live version is off the 80s live album In Between Every Line - the title being a quote from this track

Yup, it IS the 'In Between Every Line' version. I have it on vynil in an attic somewhere, but no longer have a record player and it's not on iTunes or Amazon or Spotify. Suddenly got a great yearning for this version, so many thanks marc higgins for the upload.

Think I went to all the Longridge gigs around about then, even the one in the civic hall canteen, about 20 of us in the audience, Roy was late, off his face and fell off his chair and Nick pulley him up haha

Anyone gonna take a guess what effects Roy uses here? Reverb is a given, but it sounds like he uses phasing (of some kind), echo, delay and overdrive. Am I missing, wrong with any?
