Your reaction makes us Japanese people smile. Thank you. - - - 日本人の方々へ。 この人は、感情が表情には出ていないけれど、言葉でものすごく褒めたり驚いたりしてくれてる。たぶん、すごく良い人だと思います。(僕のつたない翻訳だけれど)具体的には、 ・04:50~ :"wow, that's so fuckin cool"=おおお!すごくクールだ ・06:43~ :"I just got chills, oh my god"=(興奮で)今ゾクゾクなってる。すごい。 ・07:36~ :"holy clap this is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen"=マジか!

When i heard it for the first time, i wasnt expecting the crowd to sing along for the whole song. The crowd usually sing along at different parts, but THIS was definitely a new thing for me. This performance became one of my most favourite ones because i feel like you could here them all sing their emotions out.

Totally agree. I'm pretty sure that's why it affected me that way, just so much emotion pouring out of all of them! Still can't get over it to be honest lol

This song is one of their new album "Ambitions" that release on January 11, 2017. But this song was created on way back in 2016, well of course they make it earlier. This was more of a tv documentary rather than a concert, all the people in there were the chosen youth ranging from ages 17-19. This song was made for this event and they were given a cd to memorize the song and rehearsed it together for this one big event. Its like choir. They have make a documentary here kzbin.info/www/bejne/eom2e4RphpucjZo but unfortunately they don't have a subtitles in English...
@DaveDurbin7 жыл бұрын
Hmm, might still look that documentary up. I still enjoy hearing Japanese at least lol
@apalahapa94517 жыл бұрын
I still consider my self new to them, I knew them since 2012 but never got into them till last year and this 18fes project was sth that I had waited for since the 1st day they announced it. Mostly, it was because this is the 1st time ever for ONE OK ROCK to appear in national TV boardcast (heck taka hates TV so much) and I didnt expect what would they do with the 1000 18yo young adult here, wasnt aware they would sing a new song. But really like you said, the whole thing happened here and the full documentary too (have you watch it?) even with no subs is truly majestic. Im no 18 years old but I feel the message and got motivated again. Sorry long essay, love ur reaction video 😊
@DaveDurbin7 жыл бұрын
I completely understand. I'm nowhere near 18 anymore, but it still affected me. I haven't seen the documentary, but that's definitely something I want to look up soon! Also, thank you! :D

18Matsuri is a commemorative event that the right to vote was reduced from the age of 20 to 18 in 2015 and came into effect in 2016 (18festival). It was planned by a state broadcaster at the request of the Japan government. The Abe administration was cool😄👍

Hello Dave, I am listening to OOR now for nearly 2 days non stop and of course "We Are" . I have seen the video so often, I can not tell anymore but always the same reaction. And the moving thing is that every reaction video to this live performance was also the same - first surprise - than nostalgic and moved thinking about me 10 years ago when I was 18 and felt so helpless myself - and than just the chills, like you descriped it, chills after chills and tears coming unable to stop or better say unwilling to stop and just let the feeling be, like the message in the song... for me the lyrics and the hole performance gives me hope in the future. And not because there are so many passionate young people outside but because there are other (older) people who tell them to be there selfs and do there best, be themselfs and stay passionate and that they will make their way. We need to tell each other more often that we believe in them and we on our own need to believe in ourself and make the best of our lives - we only have this one and we schould live it truly. because actually - we are the colours in the dark. Thank you for your reaction video, it touched me that others feel the same. greats from austria
@riennekoh39017 жыл бұрын
I'm not very good with words so I copy what another fan has said - that this performance takes OOR's live performance to another level, something close to what you say as a spiritual experience. I think we're all touched by the passion and emotion, from OOR and from the audience. This live was a studio recording aired in Jan 2017 - it's a TV documentary organised by a Japanese TV station in conjunction with some 18-year-old coming-of-age ceremony in Japan (hence Taka's speech), and TV station invited OOR to be part of this documentary. The audience was comprised of 18 and 19 year olds. The TV station invited and received thousands of applications and they (and OOR) selected 1,000 (if I remember the number correctly) to be part of this. The audience rehearsed the song for 2 months. I think you should be quite swamped by the number of song requests, so I shan't add any more at this time ^^

J-POP has its roots in rock in the United States and the United Kingdom. It has a long history. However, K-POP is an idol. They don't know rock. We don't write songs or lyrics ourselves. Shape it, learn to dance, and that's it. When I hear about rock historic music, I don't know anything. It's just an idol.
