ONE OK ROCK is seriously a band that you have to watch live. There's just so much emotions when they perform & Taka's voice transcends the language barrier. please use subs when Taka is adressing the crowd what he says is sooooo profound and important. I have never seen an artist do this. Also, all the kids in the concert are 18 yr olds coming of age and were chosen by the band based on entries. Hence the song "We Are"

The title means the festival for all 18 year-olds, and the letters written with brush says the "18" Matsuri meaning a festival for 18. At the beginning and the end of the show, Taka told to the audience that the song was made to tell you that there are so many things happening and will happen to you and around you, but you should not lie to yourself no matter what will happen, you are not kids any more and you have passion to overwhelm older people who are respectable and otherwise, so you should be as passionate as we are, cause our passion has never changed since we were 18.

More One Ok Rock please! They have lots of great classics - either live performances or studio jam versions, a couple of heartbreaking ballads. For motivational lyrics (pls watch with Eng subs), there's: Nothing Helps, and here's the Eng-sub link to Unfinished Symphony, which is a bit like "We Are" but more rock with crazy energy. Not every OOR song is so serious or motivational, they have lots of rock or more light-hearted stuff - anyway they're awesome ^^

I cried to. I struggle with depression and anxiety daily it's a constant tug a war in my mind all the time. I'm 22 I've lost 8 friends and I have a friend who was recently put into the hospital for a severe car accident. he has a TBI and my Daniel died in that crash all that is left is Dan my Daniel is gone he won't be coming back. the first time I lost a friend I was 9 last year I lost two friends at the beginning and end of the year. the first time I wanted to commit suicide I was 13 and my best had killed herself and my unborn goddaughter. I was the last person to speak to her, an hour after we talked she shot herself. I didn't find out until two days later and it was at school that I found out she was dead. it's because I overheard people talking about it. she was my best friend, my sister, & the first person to see behind my mask. for a long time I blamed myself I was angry and wanted to end it all. I got help and was better for along time. then the last two years I started going into a downward spiral. that was when I discovered BTS and ARMY. BTS and their music saved me they put into words what I couldn't. listening to Suga's music as Agust D with all the struggles and pain he went through. he had the strength and courage to keep Fighting. he didn't give up and he's given me the strength to keep Fighting. BTS and ARMY saved my life because I found a with BTS and ARMY.

They're playing taiko drums at the beginning and it's AMAZING. I went to a concert of taiko in japan and it's really poerful (it's actually adviced to pregnant women to not go to taiko concert because the vibration might induce labor XD)

It's kinda celebration on that I believe... I watched the whole show (the 18Fes was a full hour special) when it was aired on NHK, and man... it was fucking great. I cryed most of the time, because they covered stories of some of the teenagers that the band chose, mainly the ones that appear on the intro that were chosen because they were the coolest lol. So, if I remember correctly, the two guys on the taiko drums are childhood friends that met in the taiko classes. They are now in the end of their highschool and about to follow their paths, which will lead them apart so this is the last time they played together. The taiko girls was chosen cause she was so awsome at that too. The guy that writes the logo uses an antique technique called Shodo and there are not many youngsters that can do it like that and they thought it was 'full of passion'. The girls that helps him also uses that technique. So they chose 1000 people from all the teenagers that sent videos telling their stories and what dreams they wanted to pursue after turning 18 and leaving school or what dreams they had to leave behind. They were all really touching beautiful stories ♥ And then they set groups in some parts of Japan to train the song with the chosen ones. But the band was never there obviously, they only got to see OOR at the live, this video. Everyone (band and teens) really put a lot of hardwork into this song and this live version, that is why this video is so important and so touching right?" xahal: "Also, the song was written for this event, after the band watched the 1000+ videos. [...] ...while your first sentence is true, the event, and Taka's speech, is really a reaction to the awkwardness of the situation where the 18 year olds are old enough to have the right to vote, to marry, to work in the sex industry, etc., but are still not considered adults by society as a whole until 20: can't drink alcohol, buy tobacco, gamble, get a loan under 20, and the "coming of age celebration" (成人式) is at 20."
