There are songs where Taka hits really high clean notes without distortion. The distortion is by choice. (also, he was a little hoarser in this concert because he was sick, they delayed the concer with a good 40 minutes cuz he was throwing up backstage. The fact he did this entire show with this much energy and still amazing vocals speaks volumes of his dedication to his craft. )

Check out deeper deeper live at yokohama if you wanna hear some screams also, but good point about leaning into distortion in his belting, often on note he is fully well capable of singing cleanly and supporting with an open throat neutral larynx etc, but often takes a note he might be fine with singing cleanly and edging in more glottal compression/distortion for a harsher sound even if its not the most sustainable sound, but generally he is a vocalist who very much knows his limits, and hes still sounding great after nearly 30 years of singing (counting from when he started singing as a young teen)
