Hi! I have a question which I cannot seem to find the answer for anywhere online. Is there a use or nuance to the use of -라- in grammatical forms? It comes in a lot of forms and it is never clear when to use it. So for example -이어서 and -이라서 but there is also (이)라도 -어/아라 and -더라. I also think -려 can be difficult to understand sometimes, like the difference between -으면 and -으려면 and how there's -으려고. Hope I'm making sense but I would love to see you do a video about it so I don't have to keep guessing. Love your content!

~라 is used in ~이다, so ~(이)라서 is from 이다 and the ~서 form. I also have done live streams about those other topics, which you can find on my channel :-)

If you get a chance do you think you could do a video on "으세요 / 세요"? It's what we're on in class right now and in the process of checking your videos I don't see it covered. Unless I'm missing it somewhere...

Yes, it's called Honorific Speech and I have several videos about that topic. It's also covered in my Beginner Korean Course here :-)

Why is 고 attached to the verb as with 목고 싶아?
@simonolesen3436
@simonolesen3436 Жыл бұрын
The 고 affix generally meaning "and" as in. "저는 식당에 김밥을 먹고 물 마셨어요" = At the restaurant I ate Kimbap and drank water. It is also used in the grammar form -고 싶다 which meaning "I want to..." so with your example "먹고 싶어" = I want to eat (먹다 means "to eat"). I know this is Billy's channel but I also recommend checking out his friend over at Talk To me in Korean. They have a KZbin channel but also a website with a full curriculum of 10 levels (30 lessons within each level). They teach this 고 and 고 싶다 pretty early on (level 1 I believe). Billy probably also has a video on these grammar forms, but I just cited the sources I learnt them from, do I could give you something. Feel free to ask any more questions and I will probably return to answer them
