Imo B/Y is the best deck in the format. Has answeres to every deck in the game and his endgame is just silly. Yeah lucci is a better gecko deck but luffy has so much more outside of gecko than lucci. Only issue is how hard he is to play over a long period.

Perfect games, Luffy is likely the BDIF right now. However, as mentioned, he is really difficult to play consistently and I think a couple of decks have adapted a bit to even the matchup a little more.

@@TheEgmaneven as enel seeing my best curve into BY, if he sees 2+ starter deck Luffy who trashes a life im usually cooked even if I KO both and starve his life.

I think so too. I topped with it in Madison and only lost cuz I played bad at the end. The doffy matchup is not even bad, bonneys not bad if you have ice age, lucci is free

​@ModernWarzone my experience with Enel into by luffy is whether or not they run 10 Cost kuzan. If they don't run him most matches are in my favour, this is probably due to my different approach. I use hiyori to constantly place o-nami to life as well as running 3 5c ko sabos

I think people just experimenting before realizing there’s no point in not playing lucci. Even in OP9 format once they get their two weeks of teach out the way lucci will warp the format around it once again

I feel like smoker is more consistent of a deck but lucci high rolls much higher

One reason I could see for playing that nami in BY Luffy: You can't really add anything back to hand in that deck aside from 1k counters that are 5c which you don't have unlimited of.

I know I was super excited for purple luffy just to be sorely disappointed. Even Bonney isn’t my favorite anymore. She is still a main for me but I’ve been practicing smoker a lot and I’ve made a few tweaks. I’m obsessed with playing smoker now

Purple luffy isn't anywhere near complete until 09. Gum Gum Giant is an insane boost to the deck that it needs to keep up. 9 cost luffy is great too, but it's mostly giant that's missing

I'm confused how Bonney has a bad matchup into Reiju. Everytime I play it seems free

I would more put that into there were very few Bonney/Reiju matchups at high ranks and Reiju just happen to win more in that small section.

For Pluffy with the new cards have made the Bonnie Matchup much harder. The 10-0 San Diego Luffy dodged Doffy, Smoker, and Bonnie till top 32 n got rekt. Purple Luffy has no removal. The op-09 cards do not help with that issue either that's why it has fallen off in Japan. All the other decks have a reliable way to remove characters from the board except purple 🟣 Luffy.

@TheEgman one of the few ways I have beaten Doffy, but Bonnie has cut Urougue for the most part. So Paulie gets no value vs Bonnie which has become the toughest matchup.
