just started getting into OPTCG, coming from a yugioh player perspective this video was really helpful! Love to see content that is a bit more advanced than basic tutorials and actually covers some basic fundamentals to keep in mind while playing! perhaps this video already exists but I would love to see a video that kinda acts as an introduction to some of the most commonly seen cards in the format that goes over how to play around them and things to be looking out for when preparing for an event/tournament.

Coming this video as I'm in a funk with the TCG at rhe moment. This is so damn helpful. Especially hearing tactics regarding battle, this is where I've made the most mistakes. Thank you!

Thanks man I hope the last tip can help win vs katakuri, also another tip I would give is to mulligan more often in general, a lot of people just keep mediocre hands

Thanks brother. If it’s playable in a good match up for me I’ll keep it but I see your point
@lolprinze5 ай бұрын
That’s an interesting tip, because I saw another video that said to mulligan less often/keep average hands more often. Now I have to deal with both these tips 🤣

Thanks for the tips bro! The tip about being sort of passive in mirror matches really helped.

Thanks for the tips, really useful! For some reasons I was fossilized on the idea that attacking with a 5k and a 7k was far better than attacking with double 6ks. Thanks for opening my mind!

If your playing yellow in to blue, dont bother taking a character trigger if they atill have don up. Twice i played blue and they just seemed to have every three thousand worlds in hand and just kept removing my board which cost me cards out of hand to play

Really good video. I would recommend that you use stuff you are talking about. Those tips are very good for new players, but mostly they wont know the cards your talking about etc.. Also people learn easier and it's easier to follow what you are talking about, when they hear it and see it. Otherwise a great video to get some progress in.

Question what if I swing 5k all the time at a 5k leader won’t the use a 2k counter most of the time if they don’t want to take the hit? Also I just started playing yesterday 😂

Thanks for making the vid, although your tips tend to reference cards new players like myself have no idea exist. Most of us new players bought a starter deck or two, play against our friends, or get crushed at locals. We don't have the knowledge to take in your tips effectively. Would you consider adding some better reference footage to compliment your tips going forward? This card game is incredibly complex and tough to learn when most videos are like this and the community isn't established enough to have large creators covering it yet.

Definitely. Thanks for your input.

Very cool of you to respond in a nice way :) I was kind of in the same spot but trying to follow along as best as possible. Only qualm with this game is with so many character repeats with just swapped colors it’s so hard to remember what does what

Can you think of some exceptions regarding your mirror match strategy? I think with whitebeard you wouldn't do this because 9cost whitebeard punishes you for not taking opponents life

The video is pretty good but if I were to make a suggestion, not only for new players but in general to make the point clear, you should add more infographic, you say the name of a card and it pops-up with the description visible, it makes everything easier to follow and just straight up easier to follow your reasoning. I know it's a lot of editing and it would make a 1 hour editing session into a 3 hours, but it's definitely worth, because I saw the thumbnail and I was drawn into it expecting that type of things (image of a card, maybe an arrow into another card to explain the order things like that) Other than that keep it up, good video, I hope it will improve my game

great stuff although I am not too sure on the 6th tip. Why would I get rid of a character that's already rested and not deny my opponent another attack with an unrested character? I agree that you should go big > small but if my opponent removes my 6k and allows me to attack again with an unrested character I am all for it. With control decks you try and deny your opponent resources, and imo attacks are resources. I would 99% of the times get rid of the character who has yet to attack rather than trash/bottom deck the one that's already attacked. My 2c of couse, happy to be proven wrong.

I play blue black saka, ive been consistently struggling against Enel and Kata. Mostly late game, they tend to be able to get their boss cards out and I just have a lot of trouble dealing with them. Should I throw in a boss card like blue kaido?

@13:19 what is a 4 5 vanilla? Don't all vanillas have +2000k power than their cost in 1k? So a 4cost vanilla always has 6k power right? A 4 cost card with 5k power should have an effect. If there is a 4cost 5k power vanilla, it is straight up worse than others...?
@heartpiratestcg Жыл бұрын
Yeah I just said that to be specific. 4/6 vanilla is a 4 cost 6k character with no effect

Can you block event cards/character cards abilities? My sister quit a match we were playing because I played shirahoshi to lower one of her two characters cost to 0, then I played gum gum pistol (event card) to K.O. that character since it had a cost of 2 or less because of shirahoshis onbplay ability, but she wanted to use her blocker (other character she had) to block it?? I don't see how it works and I'm convinced it doesn't but she doesn't think so and gets mad at me for "Not properly explaining how it works"

That would be effect characters when their effect isn't doing anything, such as situational effects and one-and-done on-plays for the rest of their time on the board.
