@@Odium16 I love the manga, but I also love the anime.... sometimes the anime is better, and sometimes the manga is better. When the pacing is slow, I find the manga is better... otherwise the anime brings the anime to life. It's hard to make a decision which is better for me

This ep was the last time I cried before I caught up in the anime 4 yrs ago. It may have stolen only a couple of tears or so from me, but it did hit me hard. It may have been a short ride, but Pedro made it count like only a chosen few other characters in OP. His sacrifice was the price Luffy and the crew had to pay for tresspassing a Yonko's home turf. He KNEW the Sanji rescue mission was gonna get ugly, but made sure he was the one to pay the price and none other. To quote the legend Bon Clay: "To true friendship, how long you've known each other means nothing." Pedro was a true friend through and through and will be forever remembered as such!

Appreciate how he didn't spoil it in the title. Ruff will do a lot to maximize views but won't ruin the experience for other people that didn't watch this part yet and may accidentally get spoiled. That's something I really respect in a reactor.

Katakuri is like Luffy just 1-up haha. Luffy's number, gomu, is 56, Katakuri got 57 in his bounty. It was a very subtle addition. Also if you've just read Louge Town recently did you see Sabo in the crowd at Luffy's execution? He's like the only person in the crowd with shading and a top hot

In the manga it was a little underwhelming. More of a shock than sadness because it was only a few panels in one page. The anime did it beautifully with the grand line as the background music. Literally going out with a bang.

I disagree. The scene was as good as it gets when you only have a few panels and a drawing pen. Of course the anime enhances the scene with voice acting and music but that is something that is impossible for manga.

@@furorteutonicus9045 people need to accept that sometimes the anime did the manga justice. In case you only disagreeing based on what I said about "few panels", you can look back on chapter 877. The manga showed Pedro's sacrifice in one page spread from the moment he attacked Perospero until he exploded but without showing his flashback with Roger. So the reader had no idea why he did what he did until the next chapter. That's why I said more of a "shock" compared to the anime which built up the moment and showed his flashback before he died so the audience knew what's coming. Doesn't mean the manga is not as good as the anime but the anime is definitely more impactful for this particular moment.

Success is not without sacrifice. Objectively getting to the ship is only half the battle, the crew are still pincered by Big Mom and her children onboard, Chopper and Brook are suffocating, Katakuri was easily able to block Luffy's attacks and even more shockingly, Haki attacks appear to go through him like nothing! Perospero also keeps the crew pinned, encasing the lower part of the ship in candy to prevent escape. Everyone gets there turn. That's the words Roger said to the young Pedro who wanted to adventure with him, it was also the last thing Roger said to him before news of his death reached Zou. From then Pedro maintained the desire to set off to sea, even though years later he had lost much of his lifespan and his friends, he saw his turn arrive. Knowing that defeating Perospero will remove the candy, the mink goes after the first son, but is still not powerful enough to defeat him. So comes the final option, dynamite strapped to his chest, a fuse lit, and an underrated badass character lost to the wind The Will of P will not rescue Pedro from this one

I fully believe this is the passing of a Will to the next generation. We have seen this before so it's not spoiling anything. But I believe Carrot has inherited Pedro's Will at this moment.
