As a former diehard fan of Naruto, i can assure, you guys gonna love One Piece so much. I was always hesitating to start one piece because of it's character design and long episodes but after i decided to watch it, i finished it in 3 months 😅 (you just need to give 3/4 hours a day to this anime n skip fillers) Now This anime is in my no. 1 favorite in my anime list. What makes you engaging is its peak comedy, wonderful design of world and connectedness of each arc in every other arc, their backstories, power buildup, main characters specially i like Luffy as a main character in whole anime i have watched. This anime is still running is its proof that it is worth to watch and if you don't start soon you may gonna regret it later. Cause after revealing what one piece is, then it will be all over in the internet n you all going to be spoiled 😅

oda's creative mind always surprises me. the reason why OP still remains relevant after all these years is first the world building, every place that are introduced in one piece is just so majestic, second is the plot (you should actuallt watch the animé to understand it) there are deeper issues that are tackled within the animé but its hidden within that goofy atmosphere of OP, third is because it has been going on for many years, we actually have dealt with the depths of every character that are introduced in the show. and fyi, the one piece was actually confirmed by oda is not the adventure or the friendship, sure we enjoyed that but there's more to one piece that this shows.

My friend had the HARDEST time getting me into one piece because of how it looked and I didn't care about pirates at all. No exaggeration now it's my favorite story of all time across any medium and I read/watch/play stories with all my free time. It's a slow burn, but the length eventually becomes the best part because you never want it to end. The current arc all these years later has had some of the best story yet and things that have been set up for later are hella hype. Also its weird, but you get used to the character designs and it kinda becomes really endearing and makes for a lot of contrast when people get serious and look cool like one punch man does.

I feel like a common misconception a lot of people have about One Piece is that it's only about finding "the One Piece". While it's technically the end goal, the show itself is about adventure and exploring the world. An adventure show needs a world that feels alive and worth exploring, otherwise it gets boring really quick. That's why the world is so big. It's not just for dragging out the show. The world itself also moves independently of the main cast. It's political and you can feel the world moving, even when the main characters aren't involved.

I have been watching One Piece for 22 years since I was 6 years old. I have yet to witness a piece of fiction that has meant more to me. It's a goofy show, and Eiichiro Oda is a weird creator but while he stumbles into different ideas and themes he weaves them together in such a beautiful way no one would blame you for thinking he's had it all planned since the very beginning. It's hard to get people into One Piece. I convinced one of my friends to get into One Piece at the start of 2023, he caught up in 6 months and is now just as big of a fan as I am. We watch and read the new chapters whenever they release now.

To answer the quesrion, yes it does repeat islands. The video shows water 7, fishman island and skypia a lot for example. Perhsp the reason you may not notice is thst the islands are not uniform, each one has its own complexity. Using Naruto as an example, I'd say each island or archipelago in one piece is as complex as the naruto world, or at least it feels like it does as soon as they start exploring it deeply.

It's hard to understand one piece just from a simple explanation if you haven't seen it yet. "The route to islands" thing is not that simple, if it were, hundreds of pirates could just skip 10-20 islands and look for the op in a short time. You must follow a certain route. But even if you do, it still takes years. This thing is complicated, the king of the pirates successfully went to the last island cuz he had a special way and source. But still, him and his crew actually explored the whole "New world". They didn't skip an island. I will also mention about the character design part, I agree some of them are wild specially the villains but that's it. I understand the hate but you guys only watched 1 ep out of 1100+. I will say the pacing of some arcs are not the best but it works. It has over a thousand eps for a reason. It might sound wild but to us op fans, it's not enough.

Dudes, just wait for the One Piece remake by WIT Studio if you're so hesitant to start the original anime due to its length and animation style. Not gonna lie, the pacing is indeed pretty slow but that's because TOEI didn't want to make filler arcs to avoid catching up to the manga. But mind you, the character designs will be the same because that's how Oda drew them and for a reason. That is something you'll just have to get used to. But as far as story, worldbuilding, characterization, and messaging, One Piece is top-tier. I wouldn't call it the best story ever told, but definitely one of the best shonen manga series ever written. As for the anime, I guess we'll see how the WIT Studio adaptation goes. But they'll probably get rid of all the fluff and make it as close to the manga as possible. There are some stuff that TOEI did better than the manga, though, so I hope they keep those.

In order to get to Laughtale (the island where the one piece is) you need these 4 things called the road poneglyphs which are like giant cube statues that contain hints to where the one piece is but it's written in an ancient language that can only be read by about 2-3 known living people at the moment. Also, these road poneglyphs are scattered around the world with most of them belonging to pirate emperors so they're hard to find and obtain.

The storyline of one piece has so much depth that even though we know so much about it from 1000 episodes, its still only the tip of the iceberg

Basically, the only entrance into the grand line is through that mountain, so if you’re in one of the four blues, you have to use the mountain and because of the red line, you can only go through the grand line in one direction. Once you’re over the mountain you basically decide which route you want to take, but once you start one, you can’t switch. Each island has its own magnetic field, so your compass has to adjust to that magnetic field before it will point to the next island, otherwise it won’t point to anything, although there is something called a ‘log-pose’ which is locked onto a single island, so theoretically you could skip a bunch of islands, but they’re expensive and rare. The first half of the grand line is pretty treacherous, with constant extreme weather shifts, crazy monsters, diseases, and other pirates/marines to contend with, but it’s a cakewalk compared to the second half which is why the first half is called “Paradise”. Laughtale is at the end of the second half of the grand line, but no compass points to it, so you have to use these 4 old stones w/ ancient directions on them in order to get to Laughtale, but almost no one reads that language since it’s so old and was outlawed by the government and they kill/jail anyone who can read it. It’s not easy to find at all and Oda has explained why almost every way you guys mentioned wouldn’t work to get to Laughtale.

There's really only one answer to the question, "Why is the story of One Piece so long, and why is the world so big?". It's because the creator Oda sensai came up with the idea of One Piece and started making the rough drafts for character designs when he was in middle school. That is why even though it has been consistently ongoing for over 20 years, the story still isn't finished. That is why the world is so big. That is why there are so many unique important to the story characters. It is because one piece is a story that Oda sensai has been working on and building up since his childhood. The anime of the same group that lasts for more than 10 years are One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball, hunter ✖️hunter,JoJo, and Gintama. These are heartfelt stories and interesting stories. Personally, One Piece, Naruto (children's edition, adult edition), and Gintama are the best works that I want to erase my memory and see again. I definitely recommend it.❤

As long run series, there are inevitable lows when author needs time to polish important stories for other important characters. *spoiler* Kuma backstory delivered, the saddest one in the series. Also revealed, another legendary badass character Nusjuro overwhelming Zoro with pure badass aura. But these aren't even major character. Shanks, Dragon, Teach are protagonist level major characters that Oda polished for more than 20 years literally. The final saga will most definitely put One piece up there with Lotr Harry Potter or possibly threat Dune.

The fact is, the people who hate on one piece is those who haven´t watched it yet. Most people start off watching naruto and cant face the truth that one piece is by far the better show. I was one of them myself, One piece is the greatest story ever told.

Nope. Mystery in AOT is kind of forgettable while even if u waited years after watching 1000 eps of One Piece, you will still remember the clues, story line and the mystery. For me One Piece is first while AOT comes 2nd. There is no stretch when everyone agrees that One Piece is the best selling manga and the best story out there. Hopefully AOT fans starts to accept criticism on it's ending and flaws.

it's not that the author is just stretching the story he's actually limiting his imagination cuz it's a manga and has to be released weekly. we've some interviews where the editors and other staff says oda discards a lot of ideas and characters in the story to publish it weekly. he just writes story in his own way and it ended up being like 1.1k chapters long so far. but it's definitely nearing the end now. anyone who's caught up to One Piece manga will say the same after recent chapters

The thing about One Piece is that, even though it's 1000+ chapters, it's actually a remarkably *concise* story -- Oda weaves plot threads together very efficiently so that he's able to set things up without you realizing it's ever going to come back. There reason it's so long is because there really is just THAT much story to tell in One Piece -- it's a modern epic. As long as we're talking about the manga, though -- the anime actually is padded to hell. It's why you should read the manga instead. The One Piece anime was originally made in the era of Shounen Jump longrunners where production made an episode every single week for years and years, as opposed to the modern trend which is for a studio to get contracted whenever there was enough manga to adapt a season of anime.

It’s a valid complaint tbf; probably doesn’t bother people as much as some but it can definitely make getting into a show harder. Depends how important visuals are to you. I definitely struggled to enjoy certain characters in one piece just because their designs were so bad. Although as much as OP misses with them they do also produce some cool and badass designs for the rest to make up for it!

One piece is one of those anime that don't look good on the first go. Because the animation is really old. But once you start watching it, it starts growing on you. You get attached to the characters, their world, the story. It is a bit slow pacing but honestly I don't hate it much. It gives you time to actually understand and love the characters. It really hits you in the feels. You are gonna be on this roller coaster ride for all the emotions. The world is very unique. The imagination is wild. The characters' looks are wild. But that's the beauty of it. It kinda makes you think "Well, why not?!" Instead of "Why?" after some time. 😂 But it's definitely worth a shot!

Yessss i struggled when i first started and kept complaining abojt the design, the dated language, etc - but once I simply accepted that the episodes I was watching were made 20+ YEARS AGO (HELLO??? Like how many stories have that kind of longevity anyway??), and is made for a specific audience, once I realized that, the JOY of the show became so much clearer. I was able to just enjoy the story and how much fun Oda clearly had writing this story. And it was interesting to kind of see 20 years of storytelling, because you do feel certain influences in the anime depending on the years they came out. And how language has changed over time too!! One Piece is also one of the few tangible examples of the history of animation in Japan. You see how much Oda loves animation, and how the show allowed him only more room to expand his imagination. It changes so much because WHY NOT! And then when you get to later in the show and some of those older animators COME BACK, dude, it’s just such a fulfilling show. ….I could go on forever honestly lol

Actually Oda originally wanted the story to be way way shorter, more like a few hundred chapters only, because back then he thought his manga would be cancelled at any time. But it got more and more popular so he decided to continue worldbuilding and telling new stories. So what was supposed to be only a 5 year story turned out to be a 30 year one...

The One Piece story is unlike anything you guys have experienced from anime so far. There is so much intention in the story and the characters are so lovable and real, you grow with them. It has so much heart and soul and the way everything interconnects with mind-blowing foreshadowing and lore. You have no idea how epic this is untill you give it a chance and stop trying to guess why people love it so much. It’s the best selling comic book in history by a single author for a reason
