Its known that most stores use tcgplayer prices but the problem was that FF had posted previously that they will not receive any more distribution of the newest set and 3 days later a "pallet" was suddenly there with more product. This company was known to cancel pre order and resell it at after market prices, hence why all the hate

my LCS always says they aren't getting more but then they buy some from a random seller for a little under market price and then sell it for even more than market price.

The store is Forge and Fire Gaming in MO. The source is primary, as in they posted it directly themselves.

My locals store on Tuesday said they received a case and would sell boxes for $150.they haven't had product in for 2 months.

The sad truth is allocation on the next 2 sets has already been cut in half for all stores. so if they can't even meet demand on an upcoming set, how on earth are they gonna make a reprint big enough to make any kind of impact on the market. there is also a new dbz tcg and union arena set to release this year. So i would be amazed if prices actually plummet. hell even the official Bandai store has changed the policy to 6 packs per person now.

Me personally, I don’t pay above retail for anything. It’s a rule I’ve just set for myself after a lot of learned over the years. I’ll miss out on some deals, but it’s served me very well so far.

Especially new product, it doesnt make sense to pay 50-60$ more per box for something thats being horded in people's garages. I get paying a premium for older product, but that value only exists due to people opening them. I just discovered that One Piece has stores in some cities and they only sell the product at retail price. The stores are owned and operated by Bandai and they have purchase limits.... That is how they get back, they get even. The Japanese don't play. They'll start opening more stores in areas that get hit the hardest by scalpers. I'll only buy product from those places or from other big retailers. Card shops built their equity by creating these false shortages by hording. None of my local card shops have any good pokemon or OP boxes, but they'll all sell ya marked up single packs from boxes they already pulled hits out of.

People were emptying targets of their OnePiece. I doubt they thought it was going to go that nuts, so it makes sense if the sellers are there, sell them something they want.

Yeah, I have also seen some crazy stuff in the market as well. Prices have been jacked for certain cards and certain booster sets. I’m not surprised.

I know we're deep in the Pokemon Terastal Festival hype, but I would love a weekly or monthly update on OPCG or other TCGs you have in order to understand it better. Pokemon has such a violent market right now, it would be nice to see a step back and review of a "newer" ecosystem.

The difference from other TCG is that OP is mostly for the players and the market is based on playability not collectability. Japanese equivalents are cheap even for OP01 and boxes are widely available still.

One piece is at the same place pokemon was durong covid. I have seen local stores stopped selling boosterpacks because the boosterboxes git so expensive. Also my friends are able tonpre order stuff that doesnt release in a year. Its crazy amd stores are taking advantage of the community

It’s a overreaction by the novice Bandai bag holders. Bandai won’t be hitting the kill button but it could be a decent time to buy if you can’t get at msrp. Expect reprint to be small and devoured quickly

Will this affect DBZ you think? This is crazy. Reprints are never good for collectors or people investing in tcg. Pokémon deals with it all the time and the reprints generally have worse pull rates. Good content. I am a new sub and I follow Danny phantump for the same reasons you listed.
