Oh ya? You must be a real expert at running a business huh? I don’t actually do these videos for the $0.32 of ad revenue - I do it because it easy marketing. I’ve gotten over 1.2 million views on this channel. If even 1% of 1% of people come and buy from me, I’m going alright. Watch some more videos and add up the product in the background. I didn’t buy those cards with daddy money

If you think credit cards companies are evil than you don’t understand how to use credit cards. It’s really that easy. Also, the credit card companies do exactly what they say they do when they “cancel” a charge that you didn’t authorize. They are there to make sure you don’t pay it, and you don’t. Why is it up to the credit card company to pay the bill to a business that doesn’t get any benefits from?
@pokene_pokemon8 сағат бұрын
IMHO The credit card company should and is responsible for the safety and security of its number… if someone uses a card somewhere, that the owner is unfamiliar with, they should confirm the purchase with the owner instead of just letting it happen. When they miss something, it’s their fault…not the fault of the business who already sent the goods

The business chose to accept the cc without verifying that the owner of the cc is the person who used it. They chose to do that since they make more sales by not insisting on verifying the owner. So the business chose to run the risk of an occasional charge back. If it's more than occasional, perhaps that business needs to examine why.

The money wasn't yours to begin with? Credit is not your money. The debit issued to your credit card is effectively the bank saying "you don't owe this to us anymore, and we'll take care of getting it back (into their account, not yours)"
@pokene_pokemon9 сағат бұрын
No even the slightest bit true. The money becomes the property of the person who transferred an equal value of goods. Once products are shipped out, the money belongs to the shipper.
@SubXero10006 сағат бұрын
@@pokene_pokemon did you just not even read my comment? "To begin with" is the operative phrase here. Before any transaction even happens, a credit line is the bank's money that may be sent to vendors with the expectation that you will debit that same amount to the bank, plus interest, from your own account, at some point in the future. The point you're getting at in the latter part of your comment is kinda moot anyways, given that the context in which someone reversing a credit card payment would happen is indicative of the other party to the transaction not following through in some regard or just straight up scamming (when done so in good faith). Why else would a bank drop everything for a credit transaction, and then for a checking transaction you're just SOL?

@broccolol129 сағат бұрын
@@pokene_pokemon I'm not trying to "cancel" you or even imply what you are doing is in any way malicious. Your channel is about building a business and investing in this industry and while I don't have access to your exact analytics, I would assume your audience is mostly adults who have enough of an income to consider building a business or be investing a significant amount into cards. As a financially stable adult myself, I find your channel refreshing as it does not cater toward kids who only stop by to enter a giveaway for some $10 worth of product. There's no clickbait, no Tiktok-editing; it's just a dude talking about topics that interest me. I'll admit my comment may have come off as crass, but all I was trying to point out was that it's evident you're now hungrier for views and subscribers than what you believe your current catalog is providing you with, and regretably the best way to satiate oneself in this niche is to incentivize kids (or broke adults I suppose) to subscribe to you for a chance to win something. I'm overly-cynical on this matter and I'm not meaning to imply what you're doing isn't smart because I would probably resort to the same thing if I were in your position. It's just sad to see what looks to be your channel lay its first brick onto the endless wall of channels built off of giveaways.

My business videos are getting more views than ever - and making a strangely high amount of money/1000 views too. For context, we have a $20 CPM on business videos and a $4 CPM on giveaway videos. I do these giveaways for the purpose of giving back to my audience and to market products. Since filming this video, our views on the products tagged and also on our Japanese variety pack have jumped 15% - it’s not a hunger for views or subs, it’s a thank-you for my audience and easy business for me

I think a fairer comparison would be using distribution pricing rather than MSRP. 20% added to $88 gets you to around $105 for English. 40% added to $35 gets you around $49 for Japanese. And while $35 is MSRP, it’s also essentially the English “distribution” price since we don’t have access to direct distribution from Japan. But yes, you’re right on Japanese margins being better at the end of the day - I just don’t think MSRP is the right comparison. Let me know what you think on that.
