man I sat by this guy on a crowded new york subway, he stood up and told jokes the whole time. His jokes were so funny no one wanted to get off. When the subway pulled up to the next stop no one got off. He proceeded to entertain us for the next 45 mins. Afterwards we all clapped and thanked him for his jokes.

Love this guy!!!!!!! Brother Jones was my seminary teacher in 9th grade, it was one of the most powerful experiences in my life. Everyday I would come to seminary just excited beyond belief to hear something that will give me hope. In that class the spirit would work so hard on me and I started to build a relationship with god. We would study inspiring words from the book of mormon, and I would leave that class everyday with a message that applied to me personally and that I felt was designed just for me at that moment. What I learned brought value that will last longer than 1,000 years.

Alexander Christiansen Alexander, the Book Of Mormon is a powerful book. All of those things you mentioned occurred I believe because you wanted them to. Add studying a book about Jesus and you can’t help but get personal revelation and a closer relationship with Christ. It was a pleasure to share so many spiritual experiences with you. I hope life is amazing.

I'm having some struggles in my life right about now. I just finished watching this video and I'm tearing up for what ever reason. But I'm in this almost exact situation right now. I'm not sure what this means but I feel better now after watching him speak. Thank you for your perspective.

Coming back to this video because I’m still in the same situation I was in the last time I watched it. I’ve never known what I wanted to do with my life. I want a career that leaves me fulfilled and excited to go to work everyday. I have bounced and job hopped just trying to make a living without being depressed, but every job ends up the same way. I am going to put my notice in at work tomorrow. I know the Lord knows what I need and He will provide for me. I will probably be stretched to my financial limit, but I’m willing to do what it takes to find what makes me happy. I was in tears when he asked “who am I?” This has been my lifelong struggle and I can’t take it anymore. I need to know, I need to keep searching. I know there is something better out there for me and I want to trust that the Lord will help me find it if I act.

The 1,000 year question. Interesting, I have witnessed the universe actually line up for a work of merit by the standards of God’s wisdom. Time and space seems to align perfectly. People enter my life at the ideal moment. A new star appears in the firmament. A thought…and then a seemingly coordinated shift across all dimensions. Sounds New Age, yet I’ve seen it happen a few times in my life.

Great message, very timely in my life as well. Distraction and discouragement are two of the adversaries most effective tools against people with potential. Any ol' way he can try to prevent us from letting our "lights so shine" - so that all may see our good works, and glorify our Father which is in Heaven - he will do it. Let's not be deceived, eh? Let's act, like Stephen says. Thanks for posting this!

I think a desire for hope creates a void for something we convince ourselves holds that hope. Like religion. I don't think the idea of "hope" as it is used in the church is truly hope. I see it as possibly a placebo for the natural feelings of despair that come with problems in life we can't fix. We lock onto wishful thinking and suddenly all those worries fall into a pickup bin that fills up and increases our desperation for faith. We constantly work to hold onto certainty in uncertainty and logically and physically separate ourselves from possibilities that don't give us convenient answers. We use logic and critical thinking only to the point where it doesn't threaten our hope. Therefore, the more reason there is to disbelieve, the more we separate ourselves from those possibilities and believe out of pure faith without evidence. Slowly that baseless hope turn into a form of delusion. It may be possible that religion is correct, but it becomes increasingly unlikely the more contradictory it shifts against what physical evidence suggests. Therefore, religion evolves through natural means to pacify its followers, moving as much as is convincing towards a more current view of the world and becoming more inviting to potential converts. Religion can only survive by attracting people. There are over 4,000 current religions being practiced today on Earth and tons more that have faded away in the past or possibly fell into apostasy (as believers of those religions would agree if they saw theirs die off). It seems likely that Christians and Jews don't sacrifice animals anymore not because of revelation not to, but because it became an outdated practice looked down upon and religion evolved. I used to be Mormon. I still could be Mormon if I just chose to believe to satisfy my strong desire for hope. But I'd rather look at life through a lense of probability, not hope in a religion that denies all possibilities that go against its doctrine. Just doesn't seem right, you know?

Ok, “Let them worship how, where, or what they would like too, and you as well. Sadly, you state you used to be be a Member? It was a choice! And is, and will always be a choice to either return or not. It is quite evident you did not pursue your belief structure into “knowing not merely believing.” It is a sacrifice to come to that point and then continue. And everyone that wants to know not merely believe, has to make a sacrifice to obtain. It is a choice to be made to obtain, “The Pearl of Great Price!”

The ONLY thing that matters is what have you done with Jesus the Christ? He who has the Son has Life, he who does NOT have the Son does not have eternal life. So the only way anything is going to matter in 1000 years from now is if you are able to be alive to see it. Whosoever honors the Son honors the Father who sent Him. Whosoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father either. What will it profit a man if he should gain the whole world yet lose his soul? OR What will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Wow! Is he blackish? My prospective changed a lot after the Sutherland church shootings, why would Jesus let something like that happen? Or for that matter how could the holocaust happen? If Jesus could have stopped those things but didn’t why would anyone worship him? Religion is an industry a multi billion dollar tax free industry. Based on lip service. BS spewing from people’s mouths. Sad really.
