A freezing day on Dartmoor national park, I was shooting with the Nikon F100 and Ilford XP2 super film. A fantastic day of film photography in the winter conditions.

Excellent video footage and accompanying music, to match the quality of the still images. Well done.

Beautiful images, Tom! Great to see you out with your boy, too! What a desolate, wide landscape. Big sky country. Love the captures! I've only shot XP2 once and loved it. Thanks for bringing so many enjoyable videos in 2022. All the best in 2023..can't wait to explore more with you!!

I often use black & white chemistry with XP-2 Super. I love the look, absolutely grain free and wonderful contrast and it has enough red sensitivity that one not bother with a yellow or Orange filter to bring out clouds.

Nice moorland weather and lighting. Makes me want to get out and waste some film. The Rhondda is completely white with hoar frost so there's no excuse., Take care and have a great Christmas.

Thanks very much I bet it’s beautiful there. It’s getting much warmer from tomorrow, so might be your last chance. Enjoy, have a great Christmas 🙏

Some gorgeous shots in bitter cold! Thanks for sharing. You've inspired me to get my F100 out and run some XP2 thru it. I haven't shot it in 20 years? Glad I didn't sell it for peanuts after the "digital revolution"!

Beautyfull as always. Good to see you out with the "Boy". He will dwarf you when he grows up ! Loved the image of the River and Bridge @ 10:41 . So much easyier with the Nikon than hauling the Brick around and the image quality looked perfect. Have a happy and safe Xmas (maybe another Video before then) ?

This looks pretty much like Iceland in winter when we have relatively little snow. Yesterday we got snowstorm and have now bunch of snow everywhere. I guess I have to get up from the couch, go out and grab some images.

Sounds perfect Helgi, get out there and get some images I bet it will be worth it. It’s very easy to stay at home when the weathers bad. All the best Tom 🙏

Cracking video Tom chock full of fine images, the XP2 worked a treat what developer did you use? Good to see the lad out there doing it looks like he had a rare old time. Looks bloody cold mate at least you could get home to the central heating on full tilt....oh wait...what?

Cheers Paul it was absolutely bloody freezing but great fun. I used Rodinal to develop the images. The negatives came out ok but I will definitely try C41 next time. All the best Tom 🙏

@@tomwhelan Nice one, I recall shooting a few rolls of XP2 in the late 80s, but can't for the life of find the negs or even remembering whether or not I sent them into the lab, the 80s were a hazy mess.

Ein tolles Video und wunderschöne Fotos 👍. Wie hast du den Film entwickelt? Welche Chemie hast du verwendet?

Thanks very much, I actually developed in Rodinal 1:25 . Even though it’s recommended to use c41 colour development. Many thanks Tom 🙏

Glad you are out with the F100…lovely images as always! What lens are you using and what developer did you use? Any filters or post process darkening? Hope the batteries were Ok in the cold!!😂

It’s lucky you mentioned batteries to me, otherwise I wouldn’t have had any after the camera died halfway through the roll. Thanks for that. No filters used on this day and I developed in Rodinal. I only needed to make minor adjustments in lightroom. All the best Tom 🙏

No Problem Tom! Mine died on me the first time I used it on frame 32 it was about -1 degrees! Hence why I warned you! Don’t know why it uses so much power! Rodinal did a good job of XP2!

@@gixxysquidward1076 yeah I was expecting to get at least 10 to 20 rolls. I might look into rechargeable batteries if they have enough power.

I’m using these HiMnh 1300’s two rolls down and still working! Still keep Duracells in the car though! Hope to get over to Cornwall later this year!
