Yeah, he was fun to watch but were we a 12 win team with him? Its easy to look at Philly and think that could be us...but Philly has a good team regardless of Barkley, the Giants are a bad team that had a good player. Philly as a organization is better in every way. Better coaching, better GM, better player evaluators...better in every way. Barkley was just the cherry on top.

Saquon is a great player who was on a bad team that didn’t have the talent around him. Eagles had a good team that needed a Saquon to be a great team. The Daniel Jones contract actually makes the Saquon happening worse cause it just looks like office mismanagement is overall bad at this.

I am an Eagles fan so I am glad the Giants let him walk. All of you are right when you say it would not have made a huge diffence but here's where I feel Giants fans are missing the point. Why did they draft a RB so high unless they had big plans for him? So in the 6 years, the organization could not put together a team that supported a dynamic running back? Then when he left, I remember countless Giants fans saying to us Eagles fan he will be hurt and he's not that good. You wait and see. So you as fans blamed him for the situation he was in with Giants and not the organization. Do you know football or you don't? I won't even lie and say I knew he would be this great but I knew he was extremely good. Better than what we've had and we had good backs but I knew he was better.

If we had Saquon, he would have scraped 1000 yards or so on 250 meaningless carries and we would have won another game or two. The big money RB is the last thing this team needs. His leadership is probably missed more than his production. I am glad Saquon is on a good team, but this team needs foundational pieces, not luxury items like a high end RB.

The thing is the giants have gone from the best to the worst team in the division in a decade, and if it wasnt for commanders new ownership the giants would still be the most well liked team, management, and fanbase of the division.

I personally believe McKinney’s loss was much more impactful than Barkley’s. He was just as much a leader as Barkley was but, also he was not only just a safety on defense. He was much more than that. At the time we were using a lot of 3 safeties on defense and he was able to play each safety position at a high level, whether he was asked to play in the box, at slot corner, deep safety, etc and if we would have paid him and hypothetically would have still drafted Tyler Nubin, I only say hypothetically because I realize Joe Schoen likes to allocate only a certain amount of resources to each position and is a “Needs based” drafter which would mean there is a world where we never drafted Nubin at all, but if we would have kept McKinney and still drafted Nubin, we could have used McKinney as a more of the free safety and in turn really allow Nubin to shine in his much more natural fit as an in the box safety. In a trade down scenario, even though I would prefer Abdul, Hunter, and Mason in that order, if we were to trade down I can only wonder if the Giants would be open to drafting Malachi Starks, who’s playmaking ability, leadership qualities, and his constant holding of his teammates accountable would be a welcomed fresh breath of air on our defense (which was severely missing in all 3 of those aspects) or would Schoen’s prioritization of positional value force us into drafting a player like Will Johnson who’s lack of top speed and injury history scares me

I think th eopinions here are a bit off because you guys are too close. I am an Eagles fan. One philosophy you can have in team building is to collect as much talent as possible. Maybe Barkley wouldn't have been a difference maker this year but when the collection of talent in New York meets a certain standard then Barkley's presence could be capitalized on. Talent begets talent begets talent. It hurts to lose talent.

Unfortunately letting him go was necessary for clearing cap space along with developing TT, Jr. in his first season alone and can find a better running back to compliment alongside him! I don’t think Barkley will ever win with Philly and I believe that soon enough we will be better in all phases of the game come for the 2025 season without Barkley and the other players let go. ✊🏻✅
