Thank you for showing a beginner as they do the drills. So many videos show experts with flawless technique that’s largely irrelevant to my very flawed technique. Showing beginners helps me manage my expectations.

Today I went and purchased a skate ski set up in a small Alpine town near my house. I watched this and practiced this drill in my house a couple days before I got the skis. The Nordic area was directly across the street from where I bought my skis and I went over there and had a blast! I was flying all over the place and surprised myself how well and how fast I was able to go. It exceeded my expectation for how fun skate skiing looked. I think I owe this video some gratitude and give it the credit for my first day success on Skate skis. I would recommend anyone anticipating getting into skate ski watch and practice and FEEL this box movement. I am watching your drill for correct skate ski footwork and stepping as I noticed my non-dominant foot would let the ski tip drop. Thanks a million for your drills and videos

This drill solved nearly all my current issues in skiing dynamics, that I felt able to generate more power and apply to the FORWARD (lol) motion 💪. Before, I couldn't land a ski feeling stable. When I applied this U pattern, my ski landed at lower body position feeling much more secure, and got a better push off which ended natually in the high position for a good-feel glide, and so on. Every point in your video helped me correct my wrongs. Thanks very very much. Your video helped me enjoy skiing much more.

Should you feel your weight moving from lateral to medial edge of the foot when initiating the weight transfer (i.e., along the bottom of the "U")? Or should your feet remain flat with ankle pivoting? Thanks.
@NordicSkiLab2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you should feel the weight shift across the foot and you should push off the front inner edge of the foot and through the big toe, laterally
