Maybe it's just an audio engineer pet peeve but I'll never understand the necessity of people to make these type of videos where they are pretending to perform live. It's honestly distracting from the great rendition of the song. No pop filter and singers mouth way too close while waving head back and forth on the high gain cardioid mic pointed straight at the live drum kit.

I suspect that the live version they recorded was not as good as the studio version they made, so chose to use that recording. I think this is one of the things that separates CCM from the rest of the music community. A think that Christian music especially needs to be honest about what it is, but ask anybody who has recorded a "live" worship album how much of it was done afterwards because of the poor performance and you will be surprised what percentage of the recording comes from the live section...

I'm ready for CCM to stop doing this to the hymns. Nothing can just be what it is; you have to add your poorly written lyrics to something that WAS good. "You never let go, this one thing I know", what lame lyrics.
