I think the Astros gave one last final offer to Bregman at 6 years around $160 million. In my opinion he's over playing his hand. He's not worth a $200 million dollar deal in my opinion. He should have signed with Houston which is also in a no state income tax state. It's obvious the Arenado market is not even luke warm. The Cardinals should trade Helsley first and actually get some prime prospects and follow that with Matz. Matz is on a one year deal and his salary isn't ridiculous. The Cards might have to eat a little money but I don't think much. The Cards should just wait to the deadline and see if someone is desperate for a 3B.

I think Arenado stays. Maybe they trade him at the deadline if he is open to more teams knowing they are headed to the post season... but with out taking on Stroman or Yoshida. I Don't see us moving him before then.

Good chance that the cards are being asked to throw in more player wise. Prob relief and prob Helsley. It would be interesting to see if thats the case what they get in return. Would the cards still send 15 to 20 million or would including Hels wipe that off the table. Boston has a loaded farm so would you still send the money in return for better prospects? Or just trade Nolan A alone and eat whatever the cost.

@@YouMeandHumanity hels has more standalone value than offsetting money, at least to. The Cardinals. I don't see them doing Helsley without getting a notable piece back. Not just for getting rid of salary imo

They should have been doing other trades on people that contracts expire next year they are not going to extend them then look at who does not fit in our plans in two or three years and look to trade them if they have value the yankees want Donovan what value is there
