I was two years old then. I got to watch these when 6 to 8 but only thru the stand up gas wall heater between the living room & the hallway. We'd lay on the carpet and look thru the bottom vent till bigger then one would look thru top vent standing up & other person laying on the carpet. I was finally tall enough to stand and look thru top vent. WhooPee. Yeah sure. Then my sis made me stand most of the time saying I was taller. We liked the music and knew when mom had this show on. Didn't understand much but like the music and being sneaky because we had to be in bed by 7:30pm even in the summer when it was light outside, we hated that, when we could hear all the neighbor kids playing outside still. No A/c back in those days either. So thank you Divine Mother for all the grace you always send my way. Love you Mataji my Mataji. OmOmOm Shanti Shanti Shanti 😇🙏

I’m a junkie for suspenseful melodrama anthologies such as “The Twilight Zone” and “The Outer Limits”. I learned of this series a few months ago, and this was the first episode that I watched. I’ve only watched a handful from the first season so far, and haven’t been disappointed yet, but I already suspect that this was one of the best episodes that Mr. Newland created. The story almost wrote itself, but it’s nonetheless gripping - I’ve come back to watch it again! The actors turned in good performances, but Lin McCarthy was particularly excellent as the protagonist.

I haven't finished watching the entire series, yet, but is there even one episode that doesn't have all the screaming and shrieking? It seems to be in all old TV/movies.
@one-step-beyond-19592 жыл бұрын
What you say is true. Now . . . let's consider why it HAS to be true and why it's unrealistic to expect it NOT to be true. The appearance of parapsychological phenomena is inhibited by conceptual thought . . . and the main conventional alternative to conceptual thought is emotion. Therefore, stories of parapsychological phenomena are going to be disproportionately characterized by emotional situations. In turn, Women are disproportionately responsible for expressions of emotion. Since they are also disproportionately responsible for screaming as a form of that expression, if you have a show about parapsychological phenomena, you're inevitably going to have a lot of screaming Women . . . QED.

@@one-step-beyond-1959 oh wow, what a really great episode!! - awesome in fact. That was a great explanation, thank you so much OSB, really!! I want to add that when i saw the woman (the nurse) with the knife standing above him, and she was not trying to kill him but was helping him, and probably just used the knife to cut a strip of his bandages, I immediately drew from my own experiences of "coincidences" of which i believe some were actually pre-cognitions, in that my glimpses or visions of these future events (some important - but many are trivial) don't always line up with what i think they meant when it popped into my head shortly before they happen. So it doesn't always turn out to be what i thought it meant when i "see" something mentally. So i knew that ellen the psychic was saying the pictures of events that were coming into her mind, and as you say were ruled by strong emotion, but did not know the full picture of the true reality of the visions until it happens - again this has happened to me so i knew what the psychic was going through and feeling in relaying the visons but not grasping the full picture - nothings perfect. - this is a bit tough for me to relay in words right now, but was a response to your; ""The appearance of parapsychological phenomena is inhibited by conceptual thought . . . and the main conventional alternative to conceptual thought is emotion. Therefore, stories of parapsychological phenomena are going to be disproportionately characterized by emotional situations. In turn, Women are disproportionately responsible for expressions of emotion."" - So i'm trying to say that many times my own experiences of pre-cogition turn out to be different than what i thought it meant when i glimpse something shortly before it happens - and yes probably because of my emotional state. Thanks again, OSB! you've helped me to understand this more, much appreciated :)
@Ovalbugmann2 жыл бұрын
Also, i had to look up QED, for myself, lol - and for others who may not know it means; ""“QED” (often written “Q.E.D.”) is an initialism for the Latin phrase “quod erat demonstrandum” - meaning, roughly, “that which was to be demonstrated.” It’s most often found at the end of a mathematical or logic proof, to signal that the proof is complete at that point""

I guess character actors have the roles they've played on their resumes, and they are hired based on that, no need for auditions.
