For any of you melee builds out there who are unsure what perks to use for perceptions, try Exterminator. Yes, mirelurks are considered insects in the game code, and that 75% armor penetration will melt through those Kings and Queens. Also, don't get started on complaining about how tanky those crickets are in daily ops.

I’ve been using a similar build for a few months now. OE Hellcat, and Vampire’s Auto Axe with the electric mod. You can walk through most everything with ease. Only the boss fights will slow the build, but you can visually watch their health diminish.

I like to mix this build with explosives using the spare points in perception and intelligence. I only use thrown explosives for enemies that are far away.

Melee is a weird one for me. On the one hand, I love that it exists because I get to watch people run around with chainsaws and auto axes, wrecking everything in sight. On the other hand, I can kill pretty much everything they are running at before they even get there if I don't hold back. I have to nerf myself so they can have fun. I don't mind doing it, but it does kind suck having to hold back my commando and heavy gunner a lot.

I find it interesting also that because you are sprinting at them they’re not able to attack you so much. They’re firing noticeably less bullets.

Hey Turtle, not sure if you noticed, but flaming chainsaw doesn't appear to count as "fire damage" anymore. I could only use molotov cocktails to pass "deal 100 fire damage" challenges.

Not too long ago they changed some stuff and now its max swing speed so there's no need to use said perk. The most popular rolls ive seen are Bloodied4040 or V4040

Im looking at replacing my chainsaw with the autoaxe. The chainsaw has a starting animation that i dont really like and it does it every time im stunned while using it. I also want the higher dps from the autoaxe. I just hate it requires 500 stamps or 500 atoms when everthing else but the cold shoulder requires maybe 50 stamps or less. I could literally max out a set of power armor instead of getting the autoaxe

The chains craw with the duel blade that with the flamer mod does more DPS I eat the time to kill on a given. Enemy is faster with the chainsaw.

Turtle the chainsaw doesn’t have an energy component at all. I mean there are only one elemental live. That’s the flame mod so no I really don’t think I’ve hold it would work on it at two to what you said chainsaw the flame mod out damages that of the auto act, but also destroyed itself faster and then there’s electric mod. Do you know supposedly doing non-mitigate damage because it’s not straight energy damage it’s actually electric damage. Apparently nothing can damage. I don’t know if that’s been all this time either way when comparing those two weapons to dual blade Jake Paul with a flame mod always does more damage.

Auto axe is 500 stamps. Average stamp/expedition is 8. You will need to do 63 give or take runs of the Pitt to get an auto axe. Or around 30 hours of grinding.

Bit of an old comment but I get 15 or 20 stamps for running the flooded city expedition, makes grinding for the union armour, and civil service mods easier since I got my axe with atoms

I have 50% armour pen 40% power attack on one chainsaw Aristocrats and power attack on another chainsaw And power attack on auto axe, not much luck yet. I dont use vampire since its so easy not to die and o have about 800 super stims... Never even get to use them

from personal experience... I have no freaking idea what is the whole idea of the dmg number of weapons at this point... freaking down right reta**ed system! My chainsaw does more dmg then my auto-axe however i presume because of the high armor penetration of the autoaxe that weapon does x2-3 times the dmg the chainsaw does. For those who are wondering... yes the grind is worth it if you enjoy playing melee this is the way to go. From what I have seen this weapon outperforms everything else out there.

Am I the only one who doesn't use Traveling Pharmacist?😂 I find I only need 10 stims, 5 Radaway, 10 diluted radaway and a small handful of buff chems.(Psychotats, berry mentats,etc.) My entire meds tab weighs maybe 20 pounds max and I'm never in need. I never understood burning those perk points tbh. I treat it like a survivalist game with regards to food and meds. I carry the bare minimum. I'd rather have the extra points to put elsewhere. 🤷‍♂️

Chainsaw doesn’t have an electric model turtle, but it may work on the Mr. handy as well and it may be the reason why the auto accident bus stop a little bit I mean I just rolled up a new auto wax with power attack. I don’t remember what I think suppressor on it suppressor power, attack or something it’s not a vampire anyway, and I have a vampire power attack chainsaw. The chainsaw is doing of a fair Lee significant amount of increase damage over that Auto wax but maybe with high voltage heavy that gets balanced out if you put the electric mod I noticed to that the electric mod adds more energy damage than the fire mod adds to the auto wax. I don’t know if it is always like that I really didn’t look that much because I know when the weapons first came out, the mods won’t work specially the 200% attack speed mod which I think would probably be the best one if it were working, I mean maybe it is now I don’t know but at first I don’t think I was working much like martial artist, swing speed, weapon, speed. None of that shit works doesn’t change of time to kill and simply waste a slot that should be power attack damage.

Hey! You hacked me and stole most of my build! LOL Though I only go 1 each Slugger, with 1 each Shotgun in STR... sometimes you just need range. Gauss Shotgun, Demo Ex 5, Grenadier... and autogrenade for events. It just works! I can't seem to swap back to my other builds... Just... too... good.

Not anymore the auto wax does less damage than chainsaw today on September 3 of 2023 I mean actually significantly more damage open screen equal i.e. no damage boosting legendary affect power attack in the second star on Bowles and obviously all the same cars work for each of them the chainsaw with a dual blade will do significantly like 20 more points of damage for attack. It’s a lot I didn’t used to be I don’t know why it’s changed. It used to be the shredder did more damage than all of them and the chainsaw in the auto expo, pretty neck and back, but it’s not that way anymore.
