I have an issue with my two way communication and need to replace or repair the inline filter shown in this clip as signal won’t transmit through it - cannot get any details of one to replace it though - can the unit be used safely without the inline filter ?

What if your unit is 230V single wire communication but no Neutral connection? Where does the DC signal get a low reference?

Thanks for the informations, as you say 2 wire system is for digital communication and for Samsung they use RS485 so 2 or more indoor units cam be connected to one outdoor unit and also wired remotes can be connected on the same wires.

Can you please tell me what voltage should I see on communication line, I’m seeing 180V AC, so not sure how it’s transferring any data like this?? You said high DC in the video, but I’m seeing almost regular 180v AC

Check it between the neutral and the communication wires you will see the multimeter dc voltage reading to fluctuate, if it fluctuates the communication is fine and if not it is not working

My aux unit has e5 comms error. I hate AC stuff :/

@@forevertechenglish thanks. If it does the same i will test with a new signal cable. Unit is 24000 btu and electric comes from indoor unit to the ourdoor. I would by pass the built im signal cable and use a different route for signal. (Single black S cable)
