I have the Xero ztrek. They are a little more expensive, but they are great. Wide toe box, and just a thin piece of rubber to protect from sharp objects. Thanks for this review.

Awesome. Iv had the Xero Z-trek in my basket for a month now but can't bring myself to make the purchase due to the price vs estimated use of the things. I wasn't aware of these Decathlon variants until I saw this video. Perfect price for a sandal I might use 4 weeks in the year. Thanks for that.

Nice, just be aware if your feet are really wide (like mine) your little toes may pinch the sides.

I tried the Z-Treks from Xero, and my first reaction was to buy 2 more pairs in case they ever change or discontinue them! Of course, I know that Xeros are a little harder to get and more expensive in the UK. The USA site has a big sale or two every year. I got my first pair mid-summer and got the 2nd and 3rd pairs at about 60-70% off.

Earth runners sandals for me. Luckily my feet are small enough to wear the kids version so cheaper. The decathlon ones look good though!

That's a good find because most brands are stupidly expensive and it's hard to justify. Having said that I wouldn't fit in these as I wear 42s which are normally a bit long but I need 110mm width. I might try the suggestion below for home made xeros as xero shoes are the best I've ever found but expensive for me.

Yes xeros are great though i brought some sandals that were too big for me and they ended up snapping.

Tried these and they are very narrow for people used to minimalist footwear Best spending a bit extra on a genuine baref6brand Wildsoles are UK made and designed if you're interested. Hoping get some soon

Yes I think it depends in the person as I found they pinched my little toe but they fit Loretta perfectly

I would say I really like them, but I think the toe strap is too far forward. They aren't secure enough for a long hike, especially over rougher terrain. I find that if I curl my toes theres a risk they'll just slip out. I don't know why the strap is over the toe rather than over the knuckle, where I'd expect. I've not worn them since getting some Merrell Kahuna IIIs.

Yes they are good for the price but the fit is not really barefoot friendly

I have a pair of those, and for me they're just fine regarding the size, straps, etc. The only problem is that I can't wear them for mid/long walks because they hurt. And it's not due to the thin and flexible sole, that's ok (that's what I was looking for in the first place), but for the fact that some dumbass thought it would be a good idea to put a rough surface on the upper side, just where it contacts the feet. It's like walking on a sand paper. Very clever, yes sir... Since they're very affordable I decided to make an experiment and I sanded the surface to smoothen it, but it didn't work. Now I can't return them, of course, but at this price is not a big problem, I can still use them when I know I'm not going to walk too much.

Interesting, I have the same problem when walking they hurt my feet and so does Loretta. The strap also pushes in my little toe so I have given up on the sandals. You are right though a great sandal for the price but also not perfect

I find the protruding portion at the back is slightly annoying when it hits the heel. They should have just made the back of the sandals flat like the front. Thinking of filing it down.

@@PeteOnPurpose yeah sizing is also way off for me. Too long. Measured them and it was a cm longer than what the size guide says. But other than those two issues, the sandals are pretty great. The sides don't hurt my toes as I have really narrow feet and I like that these sandals are on the narrow side.

Depends on the girth of your feet, they are a little too narrow for me but they fit Loretta fine.

@@PeteOnPurpose I actually got injured too when I rode a motorcycle. It does not guard your toes very well so I just need to be extra careful. Other than that, I still prefer to use it for my daily walking on flat surfaces.

The material would hold up fine however I personally found them hard on my feet when walking on concrete

I have no idea mate as I have never worn them swimming? I would assume water would ruin the velcro straps but reading online it says water doesn't, so it could be ok?

Yes, you can. I wore them for two summers, last one really intensively and I swam in the nature every day wearing these sandals. I was kind of hoping to finally destroy them so I would "have" to get my dream Zero Shoes for next summer, but they are still holding up :) Also, I wash them quite often in the washing machine. They're indestructible, after all of this the velcro is 75% functional, I'd say.

Unfortunately they are super slippery on wet wooden floor and not good on long walks as it starts hurting the end of my toes.

Yes they are only good for a short time, which is why I have just ordered some new sandals for summer. Hopefully they work out better.

I believe they were sold as zero drop however i no longer have them as they crushed my little toes

@@homegrownheroz, I think the longer I have been wearing barefoot shoes the wider my feet seem to get. So they are no longer comfortable for me, however, they may be fine if you don't have really wide feet like myself.

In the shot at 5:14 both your sandals seem to be too large for your feet. I presume that is so that your toes fit underneath the strap. However, that seems to squish both your little toes by the strap that isn't in the right place in relation to your toes.

Yes as we have both been wearing only barefoot shoes for Nearly two years our fit are much wider than average shoe wearing feet and it is a problem for these types of sandals, I would suggest a thong style pair in place of the strap I believe xero do one like this.

Mine are my regular size though as I say in the video my little toe does brush the edges, though if I sized up I feel like they may be too long? Decathlon have a very good return policy so you could always order two pairs and see which fits best.

I’m also looking for warm, barefoot men’s slippers which aren’t made from wool, to avoid silverfish or clothes moths destroying them but I can’t see any options out there, apart from some handmade leather options on Etsy.

Hello Are these suitable for walking maybe 10 miles on cycles paths?

For walking a lot of miles I found these shoes to rub on my little toe so depending how wide your feet are that may be a problem for you also? I was told the Genesis shoe by Xero was better for longer distances how my sandals snapped within the first week so I am still yet to find a barefoot sandal that works for me.

I took mine to Norway. I found the decathlon ones terrible. I did 20 miles in them around the Norwegian forests and lakes. My hole right foot turned into blisters. My left foot had two blisters. Well I tried them. I think I'm going to buy merrells sandles next to take to Sweden.
