​@@Elfdaughter The only aspect of this 'series 1' (for the third time). I don't like fantasy and Dr Who was a mixture of already really ultra soft science fantasy and fantasy. While the 60th anniversary special executed it superbly (I really liked them). The connotations and effects makes Dr Who a straight up fantasy show in my opinion. With the occasional sort soft spaceship it station thrown in for aesthetic purposes. Even SW is way harder than what DW became. 😐

It’s looking more like Ruby is some godlike creature. The Trickster’s daughter is a definite contender. In 73 Yards people who get close to the old lady look back at Ruby, and run away in fear. Perhaps getting close to the old lady turns off the perception filter on Ruby allowing people to see her for what she is. And it terrifies them.

I honestly think Ruby is actually just a human whos somehow gained her abilities. I was wondering if Ruby is made in one of the Space Baby facilities by Rubys presence there and it just...makes baby Ruby who adult ruby takes to that night to place by the church. It'd make even more sense if then the Space Baby facility is TRIAD tech and Susan finds baby Ruby first, recognizes that she travels with the Doctor at one point and uses her in her TARDIS tech giving her the powers to manipulate space so that the Doctor will be controlled into leaving the TARDIS in a place Susan can get it in the first place.

There are a lot of candidates but Maestro's revelation of Ruby's inner song did make me think of the character of Ben from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season Five; Ben was a "... prison of meat & bone" for a Hell God exiled to our dimension by other Gods who feared the member of their own Triumvirate so much they made war upon her and consigned her to live out her remaining existence in the body of an infant male until the child died naturally, or was killed. However, the Hell God inside broke free of her prison for brief moments to command the body that imprisoned her, and that's yet to happen? Similarly, Omega did try to map himself onto a biological being from our universe in the Fifth Doctor's time and again that would follow Ruby containing a song/personality profile within her. So that could be another manifestation of the same story but it remains to be seen how Omega would have plotted his "will" in the Anti-matter Universe onto our dimensional plane, and why a child? Unless only an infant form could contain all his memories and experience built up over the eons and that information matrix is slowly gestating inside Ruby? I like the Sutekh idea of the One Who Waits because I did wonder at the fate of the other Osirons and if the warning beamed from Mars ever triggered a response? Besides we still don't know what capacities Sutekh retained, even in the time corridor, that could have helped preserve himself after the Fourth Doctor disconnected the TARDIS' remote temporal manipulator from the lode stone sarcophagus? Too many candidates and possibilities because the Doctor has made so many enemies but would Omega be an enemy once freed and inside this universe again, and knowing the Time Lords are gone?

Your mention of Ruby referencing Star Trek, coupled with the theory she is some form of god without consciously knowing it (yet) reminded me of an episode of the Star Trek TNG series. It featured a teen-aged woman who was orphaned as an infant. She has god-like powers & when the trickster god Q shows up he reveals the girl's parents were Q who left the Q Continuum to live as mortal humans and were killed by the Continuum for fear other Q might leave the Continuum. The girl doesn't know she is a Q, as her parents died while she was a baby. Sound familiar?

It isn't the first one you mentioned. The Martian one. I actually don't remember him. But you said he is connected to the 4th Doctor. Russel T Davies in an interview the big villain in season 1 is connected to the 3rd Doctor. I think it is Omega and have been saying for weeks. Russel T Davies when asked about the main villain for season 1. He said it was a villain not seen for a number of years and is connected to the 3rd Doctor. Omega has only ever been in 2 Doctor Who episodes. The first one he appeared in was the 3 Doctors special. Which was a third Doctor special.

I think the one Who Waits is Susan Foreman. She was abandoned by the Doctor a very long time ago, 16 regenerations ago, that is a long time considering that each Doctor had quite long lifespans and not just the 61 years we have been privy too. Maybe she is a bit pissed off that in all those centuries her grandfather never returned like he promised. Susan was a telepath and may have developed great powers in all that time and had plenty of time to become bitter and strong enough to have the Maestro and even the Toymaker fear her or even work for her. It would be cool having Susan as the big bad and a great emotional ending when she forgives the Doctor and maybe regenerates at the end. S Triad is Susan's TARDIS maybe. Afterall it has appeared in every time and place the Doctor has been. Who knows....Who knows

The one who waits has been hinted to be related to two godlike beings belonging to a plan of existence superior to any Time Lord, older and more powerful than them. So yeah, if that's finally the trickster, it will mean this one is more powerful than the Toymaker, what is the only annoying point, given in terms of "feats", that doesn't match what has been showed until here.

Hundredsof Companions, Spinoff and side characters of different abilities having to come together to stop him, many getting killed in the process. But A, reintroduce past characters individually first so modern audiences know who they are. B, No past Doctors, give the other characters a chance to shine as bright as the Doctor. The Trickster is one of my favourite theories. If he is the villain in the finale they should bring back at least one character from the Sarah Jane adventures to give his presence in the series some weight. In regards to Ruby being the Trickster's daughter I say bring back Sky so Ruby can have a sister. It would be quite sweet to give Ruby some positive closure for her search for a real family. And finally why not include the Trickster's Brigade as well, either established or new characters. Don't want the Daleks to be in this series. Give them a break and give someone else a chance. I don't want the Roswell incident to be Daleks, since Dreamland and The Sarah Jane Adventures gave a definitive account of the event, but maybe a follow up story would be okay. Omega is another one that should be saved for a crossover event but I'd be okay with seeing now, considering how long the fandom's waited for his return. It's amusing but he's essentially The Doctor Who equivalent to Vecna. So to lean into that comparison would be hilarious. I would love it if Omega is the real Timeless Child as it would make the most sense for me. I feel like Ruby would be a bit cheap of a payoff and whilst it would be the one that would be the easiest for casual audiences to follow it would be a disappointment for those wanting a big bad return. I personally would like it if this storyline would involve the spinoffs in some capacity. Either have The Trickster as the One Who Waits, Miss Quill as Ruby's mother or include Big Finish Torchwood character Norton Folgate.
