ONE WIND ZIPPER HAMMOCK GEAR REVIEW

i got for Christmas a onewind zipper hammock and i think it going to be a great winter hammock to keep the covers in the hammock with me..Hammock camping is a grow field of outdoor trips. Thius hammock has a zipper that keeps the screen in place to prevent bugs but can also be removed to allow you to enter and have a clear view of the full moon and stars when you want to do that. often i use a u.s. military ms sleep system for deep winter cold camping and this hammock should help with keeping those blankets inside and keep them from sliding off me in the night. please leave comments below and as always thank you for watching my channel.

It look like a very close copy of the Hammock Gear zippered bug net hammock. That has been my go to hammock for about two years now and has become my 4 season hammock. I use their burrow over quilt and the incubator under quilt and they all connect together with the clips as you showed here. I always dread getting up in the morning because I am so comfortable lol! This makes me long to be in a hammock soon! Take care brother.

As a victim of escaping sleeping bags, top quilts etc. this absolutely looks like an option over my other Onewind hammocks which are great in the summer but not as good as this new version in the winter.

I prefer a netted hammock. I also have a winter cover you can zip on mine that's just screened by your head.

Question Blackie. I'm 5'9" 280lbs right now. I've lost and am losing weight but as it stands is a hammock a viable option for me? I've been using a cot I like it. But the versatility of the hammock intrigues me

yes a hammock is good idea.... go with the onewind 12 ft hammock /underquilt/ and tarp / my dear friend dan lutz was 6ft8 and 400 lbs and that was his rig the hammock is rated for 1000lbs you will have lots of run and sleep easy in it with proper clothing and a sleeping bag on top dan took his down to 10 below zero..i have taken mine down into the teens ..

Yeppers, that's the biggest problem with hammocks... your sleeping gear slip-sliding around. My simple, and cheap, fix is a fitted sheet. The trick is to put the sheet inside the sleeping bag as a liner, open side up, and wrap it around as needed. As you shift around all it takes is a quick tuck to fix. Also might add that a proper tarp set up helps depending upon conditions. Done right you wont need the additional weight and expense of gear you really don't need.

Bummer. I have the OneWind hammock system but it's the old system...birth canal mosquito net. No zippers. I've come to dislike my net system. So, I have to buy a whole new hammock system to get this zippered style, which is superior to the old system. Oh well, thanks for the review.

What do you think about the older bug mesh being removable being multifunction? Meaning it could be a net, used separately without the hammock etc... In your opinion, is the weight and size improvement so significant these possible extra uses aren't worth it?

I got a question for ya Blackie regarding the top quilt . I know with natural fibers it’s best to store them on a hanger not in the stuff sack . Would you recommend this with the one wind quilts as well or would it not matter ? I got one just the other day like on the 4th and want to store it correctly

Sacrifice a sleeping bag by cutting holes both ends and hang the hammock inside of it. Bottom quilt and top quilt all in one.
