No spaghetti bars no sumo no big arches no wide stance & high squats everything on point to the highest standards. Never thought anyone could be up there with Ed Coan but John is.

Respect from a 64 year old that is still lifting but never ever anything close to this. Pound for pound that's incredible strength. Thor should be deadlifting closer to 2000 pounds .

@@Musicman-y7v ig you think a 200 kg guy should be able to deadlift 5 times bodyweight like some ultra light weight lifter you're flat out clueless

@@Musicman-y7v It just isn´t possible. The relationship between cohesion and weight is an all-encompassing reality. For all the "casual" weight, the Earth is a crushed mass of hard materials for a reason. Just can´t take the weight. The square cube law "stands" for why an elephant, a creature that cannot jump and just about jogs, would be able to carry 50lbs, when sized a-la small couch dogs. They have little flex, and lots of reinforcement- they are actually the strongest built thing around. Big animals are slower for a reason that is indeed about relative strength impacted by their dimensions, and the weight, by default. People aren´t that magical, lifters aren´t small and stronger than someone big. Muscle is muscle. You can find how strong a strand of human muscle fibers is online. Same for cats and other. The rest is minute details, and neurological differences. If you scaled John up to Hafthor´s height, "suddenly", they would be comparable. An ant the size of a croissant could not even walk with the same "design". A volume is a 3rd power, and cohesion, the area of contact that limits the material, is just 2nd. A man with double the spatial dimensions, is 8 times the mass, the cross sections within are just 4times- half as strong By default. Skyscrapers are made of huge chunks of a material per unit of weight tougher than the aluminium that makes up a can of soda, yet the buildings "barely stand", they flex about, and they need superbly more robust, more refined, and interlocking design. Locally the material is stacked as needed for the needed cohesion and the forces applied. A "can" like a skyscraper could take many thousands of lbs on top. This is why smarter formulas are used, when deciding just who is the better lifter, as to reflect what can be expected in the ways of effectiveness of mass in moving weight.
